QUOTE(laymank @ Jul 17 2018, 12:51 AM) Boost did a one-time verification with TAC. After which, further use will just be pre-authorized. It happen to all not only boost... They send me 1 time and future all deduct without tac.. Its very insecure...If someone tries to add your BigPay card, you will get a new TAC. |

Its very insecure... it's really depends on merchant payment gateway, don't think this is related to BigPay card. Most of merchants in Malaysia (if they using malaysia based payment gateway) are still required 3d secure code verification. |

QUOTE(kenlui @ Jul 16 2018, 09:36 PM) More expensive compared to change to SGD at a currency exchanger in midvalley. But I only withdrew 200SGD which was RM593.15 from BPM, XE rate was RM592.75, but after adding RM10 for the atm charge it was a total of RM603.15. Based on kl remit exchange in MV, the rate was 2.965 so RM593. So I had to pay RM10 extra for the convenience. No idea why KL remit exchange's rate was the so good. This was all based on 14/7 rate. QUOTE(lamode @ Jul 16 2018, 09:47 PM) For the RM10 fees from BP, I would say the withdrawal amount has to be higher to make it worth it. Would like to know that if for example I withdraw cash in an ATM in US, would there be any currency conversion fee or cross border fee incurred? If I'm not mistaken, normal ATM card charges those fees for ATM cash withdrawal overseas right? Correct me if I'm wrong, will be staying overseas for a few months hence carrying cash for the whole period of time is not a good idea, would like to save every pennies if possible. On the other hand, even for the amount you mentioned, I would just use BP anyway, since it costs me time + money to travel to MV for exchange, not to mention the super long queue at changer. |

I noticed using ATM overseas withdrawal, the currency conversion rate would still be just under 2% higher than xe.com rates. If your ATM charges you withdrawal fee, then the cost went up further. So if your ATM does charge you withdrawal fee, you will be better off using Bigpay to withdraw money overseas via ATM. |

QUOTE(lamode @ Jul 17 2018, 04:16 AM) I know there is almost no exchange rate mark up. But isn't there a RM 10 withdrawal fees? The withdrawal limit is 10K (I think). Withdraw larger sum will more than make up for the RM 10 withdrawal fees. |

QUOTE(willonsk @ Jul 17 2018, 11:30 AM) the true gem behind i think probably is the "unclaimed money" Really, you like leaving significant amounts behind in cash when it's possible to withdraw?i believe no everyone will "zerolise" the account before u leave BP one day like TouchNgo card or other bank acc. QUOTE(digidigi @ Jul 17 2018, 12:47 PM) Instead of monitoring us spending too high too frequent withdrawal too frequent etc which nth related to money laundering, they should just focus on increase the reliability of their system Money laundering isn't the only problem, there's also the problem of arbitrage for which BigPay could get sanctioned by Bank Negara. They should quickly release their guidelines so we can follow. |
