rather than just bashing on tmnet, look at what other isp in our country has to offer?why blame tm when other companies cant give any competiton to tmnet?
just look at australia,
their major backbone is telstra but they have internode and iinet giving major competition

here? jaring has been around for ages but they cant do shit also
blame government supporting tmnet? well that's just bs.
lets say tm no support from gov, i guarantee the service we get will be poorer
*
TM owns most of the infra in Malaysia. and some policy like A's can't terminate at B's side, B's can't terminate at A's side eliminate competitions. oh yeah A and B are telcos btw.

actually, the blame can be thrown anywhere.

but few things are certain for the best interest of us consumers:

competition MUST be available.
whenever competition is non-existant, government HAS to intervene.

take a look at european ISPs
or, the much inspirational japanese ISPs

Ha ha. Are you sure you're living in Malaysia?

You brought up Jaring. What can Jaring do when TM has a monopoly of the last mile connection? Australia have several different telephone providers, Telstra is just one of them (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Communications_in_Australia). In comparison, we have one: TM.

Your choice of words is poor. It is not exactly "support", it's "protectionism". Why does a small country like Singapore can support 3 major ISPs? Competition is so high there that they offer you plasma tv, monitors and computers just to encourage subsribers to sign with them.

You should re-post your post at the Broadband User-2-User section in Lowyat and see how many people would disagree with you.

Australia is a bad example. If you speak to any Aussie out there, they will yell that Telstra doesn't help them either. They are cap every month from the amount of downloads based on their package and Telstra has refused to provide support when things go sour if it's not their line. Even their CEO said this. So it's basically the same scenario as TMnuts and us when it comes to backbone problems. The competition in Oz can only help so much but each have their own quirky problems as well.

And calling the helpdesk, tehre's problems in 2 areas in selangor and 1 in pahang. so lines are heavily loaded for the home users, as usual sigh. zoned into SSC to do lurker and crash repeatedly during mob pulls.

Sigh, getting 1k - 2k latency on Uldum.

It's not just WoW that's for sure, even my pings to yahoo.com are averaging 444ms. Usually 2xxms.

BUT.. when I use the Streamyx bandwidth test, everything seems fine. So if I call them up sure they'll say nothing wrong with Streamyx.

Sigh.
