QUOTE(EightPhantomz @ May 28 2008, 11:11 AM) The Village is a crap movie? I LOVE that movie. I just dont get the 'felt cheated' complaint regarding the movie. The keyword for that movie is 'cheating'. The elders wants to escape the real 'bad' world so they create a world of their own, therefore, cheating the young ones to stay in the village and away from the real world. If u say, Lady In the Water as a crap movie, I'm half-agree on that. Heh. Ok maybe its just me since I'm a diehard fan of M. Night Shyamalan. I think he's one of the most brilliant directors out there. Some ppl might not like his style because u need to flex ur brain muscle to watch his movies. LOL. Imho The Village could've been much much more better if the twist are shown at the final 15-10 minutes. The suspense pace are building up and immediately shattered when he reveals it all to us at the last 45 minutes which is way too early. Unbreakable is good and so as Lady in the Water has the ico (ps2 game) feel.

Alrite, agree to that! Unbreakable is good but not great, IMHO. The 'breaking' point for M. Night was Sixth Sense. Like it or not. Some of his so-called so-and-so movies like Signs, Lady In the Water etc got their low-points but still, u can see the 'magic touches' by M.Night like the way he connects the unseen signs from the past to the night when the alien came out in Signs. And, the way the characters trying to unveil the chosen ppl based on the prophecy in Lady In the Water - I like the kid who can read 'sumthing' by looking at the cereal boxes. Hmm might watch these movies again while waiting for 13th June D-Day. heh. This post has been edited by EightPhantomz: May 28 2008, 01:12 PM

Large resolution of the poster hereI jsut saw it. None of the big budget flashy stuff, just low key but effective and intimate "moments" filled with mysteriousness. It was all pretty absorbing stuff UNTIL, the hermity woman's house where suddenly plot revelations run out of steam, nothing new or exciting was happening.. and the ending was abrupt but it wraps things up in a neat but ultimately not so satisfying package. Lots of quirky lol moments to be had amidst the dying though, just that the script's not fleshed out to a cool climax This post has been edited by Polaris: Jun 12 2008, 03:57 AM
