To all gamers out there and anybody else,

Have you guys ever share your consoles (PS2, PS3, Nintendo DS, PSP, Xbox, Wii etc) with other people? Personally, I think that sharing the big consoles (PS2 and Xbox) or playing together can be real fun and I think its even mandatory should you want to know how good / bad you are.

However, things change with it comes to handheld like DS and PSP. I saw a lot of people here saying that they lend / give the handheld to their siblings, bf/gf or other people. For me, I will not tolerate it.

Siblings, well if they are careful person, I don't mind at all. However, if they are those that who play your console until got problem just give back to you one or those who doesn't know how to protect one, I will definitely not giving them my precious. I am a single child, so forgive me if I sound very skeptical.

Friends wise. It's the same case. But, I might be more selective.

Bf/gf - Again, I am single. (I am pathethic aren't I?) I do not have the idea on when your bf/gf request to borrow your console what would you think or react. For now, I will also judge her first then just decide on my handheld fate. Most probably I will not borrow to her. However, if I got sufficient fund, I might buy a new one for her so we can play together smile.gif.

Siblings - Do I really have to say it out loud?

So, boys and girls out there, what do you think? What kind of situation you had before and how do you response? Also, do you have bad experience putting your consoles' "life" at other people hands?

Thank you in advance.

i am totally in the same shoes with you. i can share stuff with people but only, and ONLY if they ask nicely from me. but stuff like portables gaming system such as psp, i rarely borrow to people unless I really know that person. got this 1 time before, I was really nice to everyone, and 1 day, my housemate borrowed my SENNHEISER gaming headphone, without my permission. he simply took it and bring it home. later when I got it back, it WAS broken. i feel so fcuked up about it. the model is PC150 and at that time, you cant find it in malaysia. a fren of mine who studied in the US bought it for me. ive learned my lesson since then.

I dont mind at all provided they take care of it. Its just a console, my friendship and my "siblingship" is more important than that.

Of course, if its the only console I have and I am playing it then I probably wont loan it. But if I can live without it for a couple of days or a week then I definitely dont mind loaning it off to them.

haha, to be honest I am actually even happy to let my dad use my new ps3 when I am not around.Of course, I feel safe to let him handle it since he knows how to take care of electronics equipment well. He owns a lot of high end DSLR cameras.

I've tried to make him understand that video games are no longer lame noisy things that are played by only kids for so long, now he finally understands what gaming is all about in this day and age. I remembered a few years back he said to me, "you're 20 years old now and you still want to play games?" Ever since then I tried to make him understand.

Now when I introduced to him first hand to sixaxis control from the ps3 I bought by saving up for a year, he actually got interested to play. Motorstorm and sixaxis did what I couldnt do for a long time.He started asking me about what games that we can get for the ps3, and so forth. It's evident that he realized that consoles now are a different kind than the arcade machines you see in the seedy arcades in the 90s with black mirrors and always filled with juvenile kids. Now he's even asking how to setup the ps3 so that he can use it when I am not around.

I was more than happy to oblige.

My young cousins came over the other day and saw my PSP. To my amazement, they knew it is a PSP because they are just 9 and 7 years old respectively (I'm in late 20s, some of my peers don't even know what is PSP !). Quite reluctantly I borrow my PSP to them to play. Quite nervous at first, worrying they might drop my beloved PSP to the floor. I keep warning them to be extra careful with it. Luckily they are good kids and there's not a single scratch on my PSP. Kids nowadays damn smart, know how to play my mp3 even I didn't show them how. Luckily there's no hentai in my PSP tongue.gif

I am willing to borrow them as long as the consoles are in my sight, I have been bringing my DS Lite to college lately, and my friends would usually just take and play, I don't really mind at all, and sometimes, it is fun to watch them play too, girls especially. tongue.gif
