I don't see any bad things.. aside from copyright issues.. the point is Vista has a good UI. Although nowadays I'm pretty much a ubuntu person smile.gif.

some would say the looks of vista with the stability of linux.
but then...
MS has been catching up with Unix all this time.
I remember BeOS could more than 10 years ago have a rotating cube on the desktop with each side playing a different media file concurrently without problems......now vista only can flip screens? laugh.gif

Why in the world would we using the greatness of the compiz ui want to make our beautiful linux boxes look like a stereotypic Microsoft Product like Vista?

The core of course is still linux, what i mean is they don't use any other distro, like Ubuntu is using debian as back bone (if i'm not mistaken). Anyway going to download it and try it on vmware.

I just donwloaded and running it from the CD..
the default language is Portuguese,

I did manage to change it to English(USA) but it only changed the menu language to English, the rest is still Portuguese...
it took me about 20 minutes to figure out how to configure the IP address of the network card to get me online without DHCP since its all in Portuguese
also, once I change it to English, the shutdown/restart function will not work...

anyone knows what's wrong?

if you want vista get one, don't make linux, pretends to be vista.

and you will not get dx10, and probably will not easily run directx games.

also now compiz-fusion, features flip3d, but ring switcher is more better. guess what, more desktop themes, that can match vista own theme.

why would linux want to copy windows when windows is trying to copy linux?
linux won't need dx10 with ATI Catalyst(tm) 7.12 Proprietary Linux x86 Display Driver, although it is still early stages but once it takes off the development will overtake DX10 by ten fold.
