I don't remember where I read it, but apparently you can't bridge a connection if you're on wireless (like I am). Something to do with the wireless specifications saying you can't send signals from the same wireless card using a different MAC (but you can with regular wired cards).

Short: Linux method does not work if you use wireless.
Long: The linux method requires VMWare sending/receiving packets through your NIC with a different MAC address. Unfortunately, the wireless specification (due to security issues) does not allow this, and so you need to pull a physical LAN cable from your PC to your router for it to work.
