i play 2 wow server, so its kinda lazy to type alllllll the command again. is there any script in feather to do it?

offtopic:theres a rumor saying deluge (a torrent dloader in linux) can bypass all the stupidsh throttling, is there any deluge version for feather? (theres one for ubuntu, debian, but cant find any for feather. tongue.gif)

as mentioned on previous post within this thread, i did a HDD install of my VM feather-linux, so i can save a text file containing all the needed commands (socat/iptables) and all i need to do is oopen up that text file, copy and paste it into the console and play WoW tongue.gif

still havent (or lazy/never got the time to) figure out how to make a script file in linux, so ALL i need to do is double click that damn script file and minus the cut n paste process tongue.gif

as for deluge, try and install it anyways. both debian and feather are linux anyways, just different pre-configurations.

The registry tweak didn't work for me sad.gif

Well actually it did, my ping is showing lower(as it shows in game) but then i dont notice any significant difference for my overall ping.

I am using quartz addon for my spellcasting. Even when my ping is around 250ms, the quartz addon still indicate that the lag time is around 800ms sad.gif for each spell cast.(this addon measures the time between the client spell cast command to the server acknowledges the command)

I think what the regedit does is keep pinging the server, and request for data.

Normally, I think the ping is measured between the first request to the recent response, because the game only pings the server once and wait for the response. In the case of the tweak, it will continuously ping the server, so the ping is measured between the last request to the recent response.

So actually the tweak is to bluff the client that the lag is shorter, and show lower ping, but ur actual ingame communication between the server remains unchanged. If not making it worst with a lot of unnecessary communication.

Just my 2 cents tongue.gif. Anyway gonna try the VM reroute, and see if that works for real.

didnt properly route the connection to ur vm, its stuck somewhere between ur vm and ur pc. make sure the IP configurations are correct (set static or assign DHCP for both ur pc and VM)

I just tweak window's registry to set the TcpAckFrequency default value to 1 instead of 2. I explained how to do it in the lowerping thread below. However got flamed cos some people dun know how to do it lolx. Anyways, am playing with 200ms latency now using the windows registry tweak plus my website loading times are AWESOME! really dang fast. It has to do with windows.

You see the way it works is windows sets your pc to ping the server and waits for a reply then ping again for more info. Whereas once i set the default to 1 it just pings the server like a mad man lolx. So ping and keep on telling the server that it needs more info instead of waiting for the server to reply then ping again. I hope this explains how my method works.

**Do not this might not work for some. But so far among my friends about 30++ of them it works compared to 4 of them of whom this method doesn't work.

And now to explain how to do this:-

1. Run Regedit
2. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > System > CurrentControlSet > Services > Tcpip > Parameters > Interfaces
3. under Interfaces you open one of the folders (The one with your ip)
4. Right Click and New>DWORD Value
5. Value name : TcpAckFrequency : Value Data = 1

6. Close and restart.

I understand there will be a few folders to choose from I did it by trial and error, i.e. DO one the test wow, check ping, if it's not low enough then do the same in another folder to get the right folder, cos i could not find one which stated my i.p.

I know not everyone likes to tweak their registry but those who like to this is another option instead of installing linux.

Hope this helps =)

first you gotta access your router's DHCP controls (refer to your router/modem manual)

then you can assign IP's to each machine.

once that is done you can configure ur VM/routes accordingly based on the ip you assigned

type "ifconfig" in the console to get ur VM machine ip. then just follow the guide, oh and there is a typo the part where "su-nobody" its suppose to be "su=nobody"

the VM reroute works for me smile.gif

it should be static ip from DHCP so they dont change ip upon expiriing, and in your windows/VM, they should be set to automatically grab IP/allow DHCP to assign IP

first one wont give a reply, only the 2nd command will give a few lines reply. and if your route is done properly, it will start to spam your console screen with data packets being transfered.

for me, as what you said, first one no reply, 2nd one a few lines. so if it's done properly the console i typed those commands will start showing the data packets?
what if i am connecting through wireless? will there be something else that needs to be done?

so long the ip configurations are done correctly, wireless and wired would work the same and there wont be anything additional needed to be done.
