In reality, you need to know that most chefs you see in hotels are people with a lot of experience but zero papers. They didn't go through diplomas, degrees, certs and all that. They all climbed the ladder through hard work and perseverance. This job isn't really about having a paper, it's more about your skills and experience as a chef. Don't expect much even with the extra paper. I'm not saying you shouldn't take a diploma in it or what, you still need to know that 10 years from now everyone has a diploma in culinary arts and it's gonna be a tough competition.

To answer your question, YES, it is possible. But of course you need to know that you'll be doing all that kuli job; taking in stocks, peeling, chopping, heck perhaps even washing. Try to work in a Chinese banquet kitchen, it truly hones your skills and puts you to the test. Don't expect to hold the wok anytime soon though. These days, it's not like the olden kungfu days, not all chefs will torture you and won't teach you a thing.  tongue.gif
