I see I see. Thanks for the info. Most probably will go to showroom and test drive soon. I'm thinking about either MyVi or Persona.

Based on what I've read so far the persona gives a more enjoyable and rewarding drive but the build quality is still a concern. So how ar? All those proud persona owners, do you regret choosing the persona?

I do not have any problems with the brakes, i feel its rather good actually, right amount of firmness and adequate stopping power.

Mine is an H-line btw.

However, my front left speaker is abit broken as it saturates during the bass heavy parts of the song and there's a squealy sound from the car almost everytime i go over a hump. sounds like a loose bearing.

Does anyone else have the same squealy sound?

The squealy sound is from the rear seat? i'll go check it out first thing tmrw.

As for the brakes, I also noticed the darkening of rims. I was wondering how it got so dirty as the car is quite new. upon closer inspection i found out it was brake dust. maybe we change the brake pads to better ones? will it void any warranty?

Yes bro, it will void the warranty. And PROTON EDAR service center told me PERSONA customer never complained about that dust also. That's why they won't change the brake pad.
Also the disc, can easily get rusty if you left it for half a day after rain. If you don't move your car after 3 days, front brake might not released.

Anyway, a kancil envy my PERSONA's virgin butt when I'm out of town - my sister drivin .... Haih...very sad to know that it's being raped by a kancil.  cry.gif

garh!!! when the brake pads wear out and due for replacement can we ask them to install better ones? we pay of course.
btw which PESC you go to? i plan to go to the one in mutiara damansara, any comments guys?

i really hate the stock brake pads.. they don't bite and produce a lot of dust. A LOT. cheapo Bosch. planning to change them to Bosch Power Plus pads when it's due.. more bite and less dust. way less. by changing to the same brand (but higher range), i don't think it will void the warranty. same brand so they will not notice it maa..
*
can meh liddat? you sure they won't notice?

They told me, that they can install the parts that we bought on our owns, but still the warranty void cause that parts is not PROTON specs.
No, PROTON don't have other parts than what we're using right now. The pad is standard on all PROTON cars.
I went to PROTON excelence ctr @ subang & also checked with service ctr @ jln 227 - both ctr gave same response. Wanted to try the damansara ctr, but read rumors somewhere that the plc service not good & SA selling cars there also tells lies to customer, so never went there.

Bro Bobdog86, sorry to hear that you get into accident. I strongly suggest someone collect a petition asking PROTON to change this brake parts. Else, we just have to deal with it lorr. PROTON said customer never complains and that's the reasons that they won't change this parts to better ones.

P/S: Thanks Bro Danillo... device works great! appreciate it.

where about in subang is the proton centre of excellence? is it the one in SS14? facing the NPE? how's the service there?

btw please forgive my ignorance but what does plc mean? thanks a bunch

cannot describe in details as i'm not good with road names. There's a highway next to summit hotel, go to the highway towards proton shah alam, the service ctr is on your left hand side. use navi gps ah... sure won't miss one smile.gif

plc=place... too lazy to type in full.

good luck smile.gif

Oh, that's the one beside KESAS highway. btw speaking of the My Navi GPS system, my car doesn't come with it wor. mine is a H-line IAFM though, any other H-line IAFM owners out there can clarify this?

howcome so high? new car oso around 8.0L/100km only wor... dun scare me ler... it's even higher than my 12 yrs old wira!
*
The computerized FC meter usually hovers between 8.4 -8.8 / 100 km. i always reset it after i refuel. however i suspected that it wasn't accurate so i hand calculated and found out that the FC is around 12 litres /100km (uncertainty around +- 10%). the car has only done 400 km so far and apparently as the engine puts on the miles the FC will improve? i got this info from this very thread quite some time ago. keeping my fingers crossed.

Are you interested in getting a persona too?

my sis juz got her persona. But then 12L/100 is insanely crazy. I dun think it's accurate, no offense. But can u tell us how u make the calculation? I mean the exact number of it.
*
pump full tank, trip the meter, drive around until maybe quarter tank left. pump again and observe how many litres went in and observe the distance on the trip meter. (litres that went in/distance travelled in km) * 100. my technique might be wrong but the mathematics is sure correct.

your sis car is manual or auto? what line? dun scare me wei, having doubts about car now haha lol.

I know how to calculate the FC but 12L is really insane. No offense, but can i know the exact number of ur calculation? Coz i suspect something wrong between the calculate, else it's ur car got problem adi. Coz persona has 50L tank, but the petrol meter shows petrol light even the tank has 15L petrol left. However, ur technique is correct but it's really something wrong over there. My sis one is baseline auto. Manual FC calculation is RM68 of petrol for 410KM, which is about 8.6L/100KM. Seriously, is ur car FC is 12L/100. U can go for other car adi, it's way way way way way way way too high FC adi.
*
I see. is your sis model IAFM? mine is H-line IAFM. hopefully it will improve after 1000 km service. any other auto IAFM owners care to share their FC count?

yup yup, it's IAFM model ^^. But i really hope to c ur FC soon. Coz I juz manage to convince and prove them the FC is low but when I saw ur post, I stunned. Coz it's way higher FC than my 12 yrs old 1.3 auto wira wif only 3 gears.  sad.gif

Haha ok, will keep you posted on my FC. cheers

I always turn my radio down when reversing to concentrate. however, even with the radio on, the beep is audible enough.

newest FC update, 11.2 litres/100 km or RM 0.22 / km. 1 litre/ 100 km better than the 12.2 km / 100 litres. Same driving style, only rev when necessary (e.g. joining high speed lane). Hopefully this improvement will continue. odo at 6++ km. the FC war continues......how about you guys?
