PS3 DivX Update Coming 'Very Soon' Weeeeee

We met with DivX earlier today to discuss their upcoming plans, and one of the topics that came up was support for the PS3 console. According to the company, they expect the previously announced firmware update to hit the PS3 soon, which will enable full DivX support for the console. Though no specific time frame was given for this upgrade, their particular emphasis on saying it was coming soon leads us to believe it's "coming in a week or two" soon, as opposed to "4 months down the road" soon.

Looks like PS3 dont want to lose to Xbox's recent divx update. Jgn mengaku kalah ...yea!

I thought Sony announced that they are gonna have it first and out of the blue MS say they are gonna support it too and their update came out first?

Start getting use to the fact that Sony is behind MS as they are always late in everything. Games delay, or release fews months after 360 version, lower framerate as compare to 360 version, losing exclusive titles, poor reviews, lack of AAA titles blah, blah, blah.

Matters wo... Some HD movies encoded with DiVX.

If got DiVX support, no more conversion needed.

If the give support to MKV, I'll be smiling all the time...

Don't get me wrong on my post. Whether it's delayed or not I don't care, I am just trying to say Sony is not following MS's footsteps albeit slow.

Games gettting delayed:
Normal in the industry.

Released after the 360:
Most of this game I just don't care about.

Lower framerate:
It's known that developing for the PS3 first then moving on to the 360 would be much better but most developers prefer porting the 360 version to the PS3 instead. And those who said programming for the PS3 is hard then I don't understand why the creator of Everyday Shooter, single handedly program his own game. One man could do it, why not a company? Cause most companies are just giving excuses, TBH.

Losing exclusive:
Lol it does not matter to me, I am still getting those multiplatform games that I care on my PS3.

Poor reviews:
Have you been reading the news lately? Especially the fiasco at GameSpot. An editor got fired because he gave a bad review for a game. Apparently, the game's company is one of the site's advertisers. And check this out, http://www.gametrailers.com/viewnews.php?id=5368. It goes to show that good reviews could be fabricated. I don't give a donkey shit bout reviews. Reviews are over-rated.

So yea, all in all my rant is about I don't give a jack shit if the PS3 is slow or whatever. It's too soon to be so negative and smack talk. I love my PS3 and that is all that matters. End.

Downscaling is downscaling, interlacing is interlacing. Two different terms la dude. Even when a 720p LCDTV accepts a 1080p input then rescale it to the panels res, the tv will still display the input format as 1080p! It all depends on the scaler chip inside the tv. So in short, downscaling is not interlacing!

PS3 behind 360... OMFG...

Dont care la.. how many time u delay i got other konsol to play PC, 360 & Wii.. ... as long the dev. final product.. boombastic like Uncharted or Heavenly Sword.. i will wait....

OMFG.. it true.. but.. nah who care i can play 360 version....... if PS3 ver got release 1st.. buy PS3... version.... so what to complain..

Lower framerate:
Huh.... not all game la.. 360 pun still got lower frame rate.. like Mass Effect and others more... but.. dah biasa.. all this kind of thing.. so just layan je la.. kalu game tu best....

Losing exclusive:
Dont care la wat ver dia kuar.. Wii or 360.. aku main semua.... ...

Poor reviews:
This one depend on people who give review .. some people like RPG.. some people like FPS.... in the end.. all depednd on you.. coz ur money dude.. buy wat u like..
