^ why not try BenQ FP94VW? 1440*900 but supports 720p and 1080p.

RM700+ plus HDMI cable + audio system is a good budget to match your expensive ps3

Bro, u mean the whole package includes a HDMI cable as well? Good deal i guess. What's the cheapest 24" LCD monitor? The cheapest i saw is at Dell's website... RM1349, (E248WFP, 1900x1200 resolution) but no HDMI input... At the moment, just wondering whether it can display 1080p?? hmm.gif

Use the hdmi to dvi converter. Not sure about 24" but 27" can show 1080p.

I think that plasma is supposed to be 1280 x 768..isn't it?

For projector they do have 1024 x 768...which is 4:3 resolution....

yup, can display 1080p no probs. Only issue is if it can display at its native aspect ratio of 16:9 instead of stretched to 16:10. nod.gif

You mean 1336x768? Same as mine, only mine is LCD.

That is our native resolution. HD ready TVs (720p) can receive 1080p input, but it will be interlaced.

That's why if you look at the TV display info while playing games or blu-ray, it will say 1080i instead of 1080p.

Friends, if you really want to feel the real true 1080p HD display, your monitor/TV should be 40" or above.

I can't understand why you want 1080p monitors below 32", you won't notice any difference between 720p or 1080p. Believe me.

As for me, I run my ps3 alternately between my family's 32 inch Sharp Aquous and my 20 inch Samsung 206BW. Funny thing is, in contrast to

the 32 inch lcd tv says it cant support the ps3's 1080i signal, but can show 1080p just fine.

As for my samsung 206BW 20 inch I could push to 1080p, but it says not optimum. First it ran fine but later on got flickering. Anyone else facing this issue? I had to settle with 720p for my monitor.

What I also dont understand is that 1080p is 1920X1080, but yet my 1680X1050 monitor can display.

gah. so many contradiction. excuse my while I nurse my poor aching head in between Jade Raymond's boo- I mean , my pillows.

Yes, MP4 for PS3. Each episode about 1.5 GB. 720p resolution. Want?

That's what interlaced means.

I'm no expert but this is what I understand.

If the monitor/TV is natively 720p:

PS3 can output the video as 1080i.

PS3 is actually using the extra pixels of the source (blu-ray movie or 1080p games), by interlacing it into the TVs native pixels.

So what you're seeing on TV is still 720p, only it is interlaced with the extra pixels of the source. This is called 1080i.

If the monitor/TV is natively 1080p:

PS3 can output the video as 1080p.

PS3 will output the source resolution as it is (blu-ray movie or 1080p games), matching exactly the TVs native pixels.

So what you're seeing on TV is the full 1080 vertical pixels of the source. This is called 1080p.

Confusing, huh? Hope I explained it simple enough. biggrin.gif

1080i = interlaced
1080p = progressive
