My exam is coming to an end and I was thinking to spend the month with some serious gaming. World of warcraft pop in my mind, is it worth getting burning crusade and most importantly, worth playing even have to pay RM90 for a reload card ??
Not to mention that guild wars is free, so, between guild wars and WOW , which one ?
Cheers

Guild wars tend to cater niche PvP oriented player, WoW is made of win and addiction...
well for starters... buy the starter pack first, put the expansion on hold... buy the expansion only and when only you reach level 60 or close to it... because new player tend to take longer time to hit 60 than others... even there are a burst 20% to levelling speed to 60 since 2.3 hit.
BTW... welcome to the community

but you have to know....you cant fully enjoy WoW with jz one month. Even if you get to lvl70 within that month you still need alot time and gearing up and start an arena team.... If you jz gonna play one month then you probably gonna see like 30% of the game...coz WoW real fun comes after lvl 70

Thanks guys for the fast response. I will try out WOW for now as i was itching to play but because of the reload card thingy, never did materialise. But since its going to be christmas let's see whether WOW is worth the hype. Was also considering COD4 but fps games is too repetitive and gets boring very quickly too.
Prolly will get the battlechest with starter and BC.
Cheers.

er.. dude the reload is for 60 days i.e. 2 months. so it works out just about the same as any other mmorpg out there (with exception to the locally hosted mmo's)
And yeah Guildwars is more for the pvp oriented. I have guild wars too but log in occasionally or rather very rarely, just to go in for say 30 mins for pvp then log out and play wow. lolx.

if you want to play just about 1-2 months, then dota is the game. hehehe. but its not a waste of time if you play wow, even for 2 months. its gonna be the time of your life.

Of course it's not a waste of time to play WoW for 2 months. The question is whether or not you have the will-power to stop after that! Err I suggest you don't buy ANYTHING first. Download the game online or borrow a friend's cd, and register for the trial (there seems to be a prob with Blizzard blocking Msian IP registrations recently, even with anonymous proxy, so you'll need a friend overseas to do it). The trial lasts 10 days, and if you like it then buy WoW (without the expansion). The CD comes with 30 days of play for RM75+. You don't need the expansion yet, although it's admittedly nice to have even at low lvls, if $$$ is no issue.

DO NOT TOUCH WOW.
It sucks the life out of you just like a shadow priest stacking shadow weaving on you and 10000000 Warlocks stacking Curse of Shadows, Siphon Life and Drain Life on you.
Oh wait, see what wow has done to my language skills.

Guild wars needs to resort to changing to f2p to keep a player base. From past exp, games that are f2p have a lousy gaming community.

the trial is only for a few big countries... malaysia is not one of them. If you then upgrade that trial account, some people have reported being banned from this. While others' account are still working fine.
to be on the safe side, don't upgrade from trial.
