Is there any problem that i will face as i don't have any vehicle? So far, will it be troublesome to students for not owning a car? I will stay in the hostel provided and can i get daily essentials in the vicinity?

QUOTE(misterpotato @ May 28 2009, 02:10 PM) You'll have to rely on the uniten shuttle(bus) which and I tell you what, you'll hate the bus sooner or later. Why u said that i will hate the bus later??? But i think at least there is a transport for me to move around, it is better than no. Forgot to add, enjoy the orientation. |

QUOTE(misterpotato @ May 28 2009, 02:28 PM) 1 more, if you don't want to wait the bus for a long time, learn the bus timing. It's really quite troublesome, need check this and check that. I think it will be a big trouble if i lost my ID! The bus will bring us to You can minimize the time you gonna waste in waiting for the bus. Can't believe it's already been 1 year since I enroll to uniten, time really does fly... And for every new student information, there are indeed lots of foundation student that brought their own car(or motorcycle) despite the rules. The problem comes when you are about to enter amanah or enter uniten vicinity because there is pak guard stationed on that particular places. Not all the time, but sometimes they will ask for sticker, ID and such which can prove to be quite troublesome. |

QUOTE(eau-rouge @ May 28 2009, 02:40 PM) the bus is damn slow n not punctual But the problem is i'm not as rich as u think. My dad wants me to concentrate in my studies so this is one of the reason that i won't have my own vehicle in foundation year. How about the laundry service? I don't think i have to wash clothes on my own. just drive your car there..nobody gives a damn whether u r foundation student or not..all they want is monay..that's it Added on May 28, 2009, 2:56 pm QUOTE(misterpotato @ May 28 2009, 02:49 PM) Nearby hypermarket? lol. Nope, only around uniten hence the name uniten shuttle. huh...Then where i gonna get my daily essentials??? Yes I'm in Putrajaya campus staying in amanah. As for vehicle, only had it for a while. Better bring ID all the time, but no need to hang it on your neck, just have it in your pocket, save you lots of trouble. This post has been edited by Chippy_sky: May 28 2009, 02:56 PM |

QUOTE(Omen711 @ May 28 2009, 02:17 PM) Chippy, Wah, it sounds good. That means i will spend my 5 years time in uniten nearby without going anywhere else. It's really nice that i will have supper everyday. For foundation students, u are not allowed to bring any sort of vehicles to uniten. Its under uniten's law that foundation students are not allowed to bring them to uniten. During my foundation period 5 years ago we are not allowed to bring vehicles to uniten....but somehow i juz drove them anyway Certainly it will not be a troublesome if u dont own one..... uniten bus will take u from your hostel (Amanah) to COE college, food court, library etc etc. The only problem is that u might have to wait for quiet some time for the bus to arrive at Amanah....which it might turns out to be very irritating Yes, u can get daily essentials from amanah's vicinity. U can send your laundries to dobi on the ground floor and u can go 'tapaw' foods from COE food court, Up10 food court, Lot10 food court etc etc .... so daily essentials wont be a problem Added on May 28, 2009, 3:12 pm QUOTE(misterpotato @ May 28 2009, 03:02 PM) It's so convenient, but i think the price will be much more expensive than other place, right? Emm, how about the races in uniten? The majority is the malays and how about the other races and suppose there will be overseas student, right???This post has been edited by Chippy_sky: May 28 2009, 03:12 PM |

QUOTE(misterpotato @ May 28 2009, 03:18 PM) I think its time for V2? Then you wash on your own??? Never mind, i will use it although it works slow. Huh, less girl here? How is the ratio between boys and girls? I just want to know whether malay other chinese are the the most in uniten. I remember i ask them before and they told me that malay and chinese (50:50) and i want to a confirmation since you are my senior and your information can be trusted! Laundry service I dunno, nvr use, Internet is slow, but it is included in the RM180 payment, so you better use it. I dunno much about the races in uniten, but I do know there is lesser girl here... And yeah, quite a number of oversea student here. |

QUOTE(exentric_nova @ May 28 2009, 04:48 PM) laundry at upten now charges RM3 for every kg. kind off expensive. used to be RM2 only but during the fuel price hike, they took the advantage of raising it as well and didn't bother to bring em down. not sure nowadays though since I usually send mine in Sg Ramal. We pay for the internet but the connection slow? Then i think i will use other broadband that offer cheaper price and faster rate By the way, there 2 kedai runcit at upten there. one Pasaraya Tenaga or PasTen as they call it, and a kedai mamak one, Jasa or something the name. Pasten is well known for their bloodsucking prices. Unless the item has explicitly printed the price on the item like breads, they will usually mark the price up like hell. So, for heavy ration shopping, better ask a fren with a car to go to a hypermarket. There are 2 nearby. Carefour at alamanda and Giant at Mines. this is odd. when I enter uniten 4 years ago, I can bring em just fine. legally that is. registered with stickers and everything. only after a couple of years later I heard they enforced no car for foundation students. Another thing for internet, it is freakishly slow. Good luck being patient with it. Added on May 28, 2009, 6:43 pm QUOTE(nick_myself @ May 28 2009, 05:36 PM) I heard that there are lesser girls in uniten compare to the other universities. How come uniten is facing such problem? No other solution to overcome this problem? Maybe few years later, only boys left. This post has been edited by Chippy_sky: May 28 2009, 06:43 PM |

It's so inconvenient for you all but i feel relieve as nowadays are better than before. I hate the break down of internet connection due to many users connecting to internet at the same time and it usually happens every weekend in my hometown. But anyway, i really hope that it won't happen in uniten

I get the sample of the hairstyle from uniten and i don't know what will happen if i refuse to follow. Will i gonna be expel from uniten?? Haha...
