yeap.. P2 is also my biggest fear..

anyway.. i got some questions here..

for my case, i hav not completed F9, P2, P3, P4 and P5 .. my very last 5 papers..

im plannin to take F9 and P5 .. only 2 papers.. is that possible?? Or must i follow the sequence?

after F9, its P2 .. ..

you cant compare F7 and P2 directly

when u reach the professional level, that means u sure got some quality .
If you r not strong, u sure will fail at F7-F9,
at the F level, still have a lot of candinate that strong plus weak.

However, the person will give up F level, and fail at F level,
means that the person that pass F level can go to P2 level,
The P2 passing rate sure higher than F7

iianm ACCA wants u to go module by module now. i.e. u'll have to take f9 + some core papers

And looking at the passing rates,I think P1 was a surprise package.Alot of ppl either didn't clear it if they thought they would or they got lower marks than they thought they would.

My word of advice? P1 is still a P paper, don't forget that. It may seem relatively easy on the surface compared to the other P papers, but don't let that fool u. Don't neglect this paper when revising smile.gif

You forgot oredi this is only the 1st sitting for new syllabus. Majotiry of the paper, the passing rate higher than previuos sitting cos examiner treat it as a testing. And due to the 1st sitting, examiner won't know the candidates standard, he/she oso won't expect high standard answer from student.

I'm sure June 08 passing rate won't be so high especially for Prof paper.

That's why majority of my friend when doing P2 feel so hard but finally can pass.

You can try Philip Woo in KSA. I'm sure he will be more better better than Jackson Chan.

Yesterday I ask Keith Farmer comment about passing rate in P2. He also said that he is not surprise for the higher passing rate for this paper cos normally when new syllabus coming, the earlier sitting is a good chance to pass.

So if any of yours still in P1 - P3, better pass it in June 08. Cos when more sitting go, the question will become more complicated, it is more hard to pass already.

I'm not saying all wo, I only said majority mah! rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

But the passing rate low, may be b'cos of the student take options paper under estimate the difficultly of the question lah! For eg, my friend go to take P6 last sitting. He feel not much problem in P6 and Chow Chee Yan oso told student P6 should be easier than old 3.2 due syllabus cut a lot of specific industry. But when that day enter to exam, he totally dun know wat to write. According to him the question become more practical than old 3.2, examiner treat u as a Tax Adviser in this paper.

Finally, he was very up set for take this paper in Dec 07, he told me if he know the option paper so difficult earlier, then he will choose to take P1 or P3 first.

And I don't think the option paper will become more difficult or more easy in this coming sitting cos by look at the passing rate for the papers, student already want to kill examiner (except P5).

P4 and P7,advanced audit and fm. These papers will never have high passing rates anyways. Difficulty wise..who knows. They might lighten up slightly in an attempt to push up the passing rates, but I doubt u'll see a trend such as it "becoming easier with more sittings"

only 28% passing rate for P6? sweat.gif sweat.gif luckily i'm not taking that paper anymore whistling.gif
surprisingly F8 has a higher passing rate compared to previous sittings. thanks Alan Lewin! notworthy.gif
anyway optional papers are really more difficult than core papers in the new syllabus since they are the final challenges to complete ACCA. so we must work harder on it! smile.gif

wow... generally passing rate for options paper is below 42%. This means that the examiner's expectation from students very high. wonder how many people will graduate this sitting...
