If you could jack up your budget, highly suggest you take the MS1.
If not just take the all rounded DT231 which I always recommend.

walabies, pls ignore all my request for the hd555...already got my unit today frm an outlet in KL...cannot wait any longer...for those wondering how much i paid for it, lets just say i top up a little bit as the "waiting-free" fee ...and also got myself a decent amp to go with my headphone...it's an "already burn-in" Pro-Ject Head Box II...going to burn-in my headphone starting tonite...what i can tell u guys about the hd555 is: IT'S EVERYTHING I WANT FROM A HEADPHONE!!

What The Fudge! Why does this sound so tinny...
Ten Minutes of playing with ipod settings/listening to different files. The same shitty sound.
I thought either I was an idiot for not being expert enough to appreciate good sound when I know it...or my set is seriously busted.

Then i shoved the Flanges deeper in the ear canal a bit..
Taddah! Lovely detail and much fuller sound stage. highs and Mids very nice. Bass is not in your face but seems accurate. My early guess is that these will be more suited for jazzy/lounge/acoustics as opposed to metal or techno...we shall see...
Gonna break it in till after the weekend with non stop music and have another listen next week. Till then.. "Whew!"

A reminder for all noobs like me to IEMs - These are not regualr ipod earphones and must be worn properly to work properly.
