I have 3 hairline cracks on the side with the Superdrive.

Oh man that's scary. I hope the new batch won't suffer from such problem. I will think twice before closing the lid now...

Is that covered under warranty?

Hmm, after looking at some of the pictures, some of them surely looks like they were induced by the users.

The hairline crack looks like a manufacturing problem, but the one with the huge hole beside the trackpad surely doesn't look like it appear out of nowhere.

Mine's a year plus, no cracks whatsoever.

mine is from June last year, no cracks at all.

so its a matter of luck... whether u get a macbook that will last.... or a macbook what that will crack and make a big hole nex under the keyboard haha

about the crack in front of the macbook.... it's becoz of closing the macbook too hard n rough i guess ??

the magnet is around tat place... = =....

from the user posted pictures, I don't see anything.
Only the flickr page do i see something.

my MBP looks much worst than any of yours...scratches and everything. But I love it so much that I don't think I would sell it off ever

shite..i hav d same problem too..cracks here and there...

i have that crack too on the arm rest
but i send it back to RMA.. 5 days settle...
they chg whole new top case..

reason of the crack is..
you close the lid too fast and too hard.. thn it will crack..
you must close it softly.. or can even put a cloth between it.. to prevent any future damage.

Can't speak too soon, 3rd week using, no crack yet.

Hey dude, I think I know the guy who owns this MacBook. Is his name Yap Ping Kuang? He is my school mate. He doesn't care about his Mac and his Mac has a crack that looks exactly like that. In the end he dropped it again and then it didn't work anymore so he sent it to Machines to be repaired and he loaned a MacBook from my school.
