I have both DiRT and GRID (demo) install. Got weird prob. If play DiRT, need to set full sound hardware acceleration in dxdiag. If play GRID, need to set no sound hardware acceleration in dxdiag.
If not either one can not launch.
Is it because I run both in XP SP3. I think Vista users have no prob. Or because of demo. Maybe X-Fi soundcard If set no sound hardware acceleration, will reduce sound quality or not?
Thanks a lot.
i'm also having the same problem leh, using vista non-sp1. no X-fi either.

i drift on tauge using handbrake ma need teh traction control to be on, especially for the hairpins. 500bhp makes even a skyline a pussycat on wet floor.
no need to say LMP1/2 farking understeer. but....the best car for LMP1 is the Saleen S7 and best car for LMP2 is....the 911 GT3 RS. only the 911 does not have understeer
Added on June 12, 2008, 10:25 amlol now i know why cannot drift. TCM is on the whole time! XD

done with toyota soarer, quite easy to drift thanks to its long wheelbase and low torque. broke a chain of 67 and then next chain of 75 multiplier. could have done better, but it wasn't on my PC chapree went wtf ahahahahhahahaa
Using keyboard is seem like impossible to drift as when press the accelerate key while drift the car will go out of control & crash. If press & let go & press the car wont drift to long. Anyone here got tips using keyboard & the best advance setting for steering for drifting course?
my record drift was using keyboard at a cyber cafe. turn on your traction control. turn off your stability control.
ruygan, 4 laps its possible to get normal drifts. most of my normal drifts happened when i was setting up the car for the next corner.
okutama right? last corner before straight can get 200k drift points no problem. easliy drift legend. im sure you can do better than me, just try the soarer
