My full review of the game. First of all I would like to say this is just my views, and may differs from yours. Just bear with me on this one okay?
Graphics - Quite good. The cars looks gorgeous. The transition between night and day at LeMans rivals the one that is used in gMotor2 (GTR2 and rFactor, which also offers changing time). The only thing that gets on my nerve is the amount of post processing effects, especially the bloom which IMO is a tad too much. Indeed, visiting the codemaster forum or any other gaming forum you will see ppl complaining about it. While it does makes the game look different, this is a racing game, and you need to SEE the road. The bloom makes it harder to differentiate the road and the gravel. Another thing that I hate is the fixed camera at the back, which is too low. As I have played others that let you not only adjust the external camera, but also the SEAT inside the cockpit, it took me a while to adjust to the views Gameplay - Mainly the achilles heel of this series. For me who usually play simulations, the lack of setup option really hurts me. I mean I have a preferences on how I like to have my car setup, and it really hurts to drive a car that is totally different from what I like. Even prostreet has a tuning option. The career mode is quite good and done brilliantly, altho I would have love for my pit board to tell me what lap times I am doing instead of telling me I am leading. OF COURSE I KNOW I AM LEADING! The sponsorship was a joke. How can I get sponsors from 5 different tyre manufacturers AT THE SAME TIME?? Heck, my Audi TDi is sponsored by Bridgestone, but uses Michelin. They should have checked this before releasing teh game. The jumbled up grid are not welcomed. There are some reasons that in real life they have qualifying. But the most glaring ones are these two that I encountered in the game. one, the dangerous street circuit that Codemaster seems to love to include but in real life will be banned immediately by the FIA for lack of safety run off areas. Take note that in the last 6 years, 5 of the Monaco Grand Prix winners started from pole. To start last in an F3 on a street circuit is the worst thing a racer wants. The other reason is the really really shitty AI. Codemaster meant to do somethign good with making the AI making mistakes, but when you are on a street circuit, and the AI makes a mistake just in front of you, you have nowhere to go. The cars itself are horribly done. The speed are unrealistic, the grip are too much and the brakes locks too easily. Imagine this, during the recent LeMans, the Audi TDi can only manage speed up to 320KM/h on the Mulsanne straight, with the top speed of 339KM/h during practice was teh fastest it can ever get. In the game, you can go up to 419KM/h! Heck, my F3 car went over 300KM/h at a f***ing street circuit! Nobody in the right mind setup their car to have top speed when you need to have all the downforce you need at a street circuit. So much for realism. Heck, the traction control only seems to work on certain speeds. Wheelspinning still happens even if you turn in on. The tracks are also crap. Where else can you find a place where boxes are as heavy as rocks? Tyre barriers are erected NOT TO DAMAGE CAR but to save drivers. Honestly if this was real life countless ppl would have died. The damage are also not consistent. if it hit static objects, it would either be no damage or exaggerated damage, even if the hit are at really high speeds. A car wing will detach no matter how slow you are going as it's not really fixed directly. But in the game, you can bang on the wall or other cars all you want but still keep your wing intact. Real life circuit are done quite nicely, but I hate the one that Codemaster made themselves. They seem to have a penchant to create street circuits that breaks all FIA rules. It's dangerous, mightily narrow, and unrealistic. Also REAL LIFE TRACK DOES NOT DO RACE IN REVERSE DIRECTION! The track are made to flow one way only. Only Misano had ever changed teh track direction in real life, and that was because they revamped the whole track. Multiplayer - The connection to server are crap. I kept disconnection all the time. you are losing money and rep. That is the most easily most lucrative race of the season. And 12 minutes of racing is just too short and too easy, considering that the AI cannot take the 2 mulsanne's straight chicane as fast as you can

QUOTE(donpapachino @ Jun 29 2008, 11:34 AM) yup, but dont know whether the money and rep worth it. cos when enter pro license, definitely more money n rep n 'easier' to win. It is the highest paying race and highest earning rep in teh game. 1 Race with the LMP1 = 1 whole season of ProQUOTE(radkliler @ Jun 29 2008, 07:47 PM) Ever heard of GTR2? they have a 24 hour endurance race. I tried it and after 24 hours, I was groggy, puking, and have a fever for 4 days. In any circumstances you rarely race endurance, DO NOT DO ITThis post has been edited by linkinstreet: Jun 29 2008, 11:29 PM |

QUOTE(ryugan @ Jun 30 2008, 01:02 AM) that means ur body not 'true' racer, cant stand the real race time Gile ko redah. Aku buat 3 pitstop, biar AI sambung satu pitstop, masa tu la aku mandi/makan/semayang lol. 1 stint dalam 24/25 lap kat monza. so dalam 1 1/2 jam sekali race. Monza je sanggup as Spa needs more concentration and has higher tyre wear lol. playing for 24 hour thats real gamer ko semayang tak? tak pun ko redah jer semua? Anyways mootsumi confirmed that there will be a grid tournament later this year in Malaysia This post has been edited by linkinstreet: Jun 30 2008, 07:17 AM |

lol dude, we were playing this online for 1 whole week after the game was launched. We even have a STEAM clan.
Anyways 1 - The tougher the race the better sponsors you unlock. So after each race CHECK the price that they offer. I can easily rake in USD6mil in one race depending on my teammate position, and USD42Mil in LeMans as he will ALWAYS finish 2nd behind me 2 - You don't need to race every single race offered. After tier 2 was unlocked I only race in Japan and Europe and skipped the US event. The LeMans give me enough rep to skip US altogether and gain enough rep to challenge the last race. After you win this, you will unlock all cars. |

According to sources close to Codemasters Malaysia, they are going to offer the game with the same price as during GRID Launch Party. That's like RM 50 for PC and RM 100 for consoles version. So yup, consider getting one ASLI version for yourself, you |
