The teaser looks pretty kickass. Then again, the trailers for the first were kickass as well, and look how that turned out in the end.

I'm positive I saw him in the teaser. Or at least something that looked like him.

is he really going to have a goatee and a tongkat? that's cheesy as hell. Reminds me of one of the characters in Star Wars Episode I. The one who hired little anakin.
edit: no not the one who hired anakin. The one who was one of the racers in the pod race. The rudest and most aggresive one This post has been edited by QuickFire: May 3 2009, 12:07 AM |

Doesnt appeal to me. Sounds and looks corny.
But judging from the new trailer, this should be at least no worse than the first movie This post has been edited by QuickFire: May 3 2009, 12:10 AM |

QUOTE(Mgsrulz @ May 4 2009, 11:37 PM) i think everyone can predict the critic's reviews already most probably in the 50% area (like transformers 1) but it's M Bay..going in for the story would be oh I really really like The Rock too. But his other movies....though i did love THE ROCK to bits. I'll grant you that TF2 looks better than the first (which was quite fun the first time in the cinema but had me yawning the second time), if only because it has even more robots in even bigger sizes. If Bay can get the action right, which he didnt the first time round, I'm sure I'll have blast with this. |

is that starscream in the 3rd pic? it looks like he has a giant cock sticking out, and his hand is stroking it.

1U doesn't have Cineleisure. Cineleisure is beside The Curve, and has probably the best picture quality I've seen here in this region. Anyway I'll probably buy the tickets online a few days before the premiere. I have a feeling this is going to be huge at the box office. I wouldn't be surprised if it gets like 120-130M opening weekend.

From the early reviews it sounds like this will be more of the same as the first... which isnt good news.

Does anyone know if there are student prices if I book online at Cineleisure Damansara? And what if I book 12 tickets and want to redeem less than that at the counter... is that allowed? (it is at GSC)

The only thing I want from my transformers movie experience is a load of awesome action. Nothing else matters. The first didnt even deliver on that front.... which was really disappointing.

It was decent. The amount of action has increased three-fold, and while a lot of it is still as badly shot as the first movie, some of the action scenes have improved. At least now the camera actually zooms out and allows us to take it in.
That's the only improvement over the first though (and it's a every important one, seeing as the only thing that really matters is the action), everything else is either the same or just worse. Some of the humour is pretty good, but most of it is awful! The movie's brand of humour is worse than Night at the Musuem 2! The CGI is of course impressive, but we have seen it all in Transformers 1, and it no longer has any charm here. Hell one could even say we have seen it all in the trailers for the first movie. I was never really very impressed with the CGI in the first anyway, because they are robots and not organic beings. The pinnacle of CGi still remains with Davy Jones and King Kong. Another good news is that Frenzy, the most annoying thing in the first movie, does not return. Bad news is that there are dozens of little decepticons like Frenzy in the second. They are just not named Frenzy. And if you want to get an idea about how annoying Skids and Mudflaps are, think of two Jar Jar Binks. So, in the end... it;s more or less the same as the first. If you loved that, you'll love this. If you hated that, this wont change your mind about the Transformers series. It's just a mighty, senseless assault on the senses. Whether or not that's a good thing is up to you. Me... I'm an in-between guy. I enjoyed it a bit, but dont ask me for a second helping, even if it's free. After this I'm no longer waiting for TF3. Maybe the idea of big robots on robots action wasnt really that fun in the first place. It certainly isnt very fun under Michael "purposeless explosions are my pornography" Bay. Oh and I know the plot isn't worth mentioning in a movie like this, but I'll say it anyway: the plot is utter shit. It boggles the mind how the same guys wrote Star Trek. That subplot involving the "I love you" line is just... what the f*** were they thinking? In fact any love scene in the movie was cringe-worthy. A lenient 3/5. It really doesnt deserve that score, but somehow I enjoyed it a bit. I completely understand how the critics are ripping into this one. This post has been edited by QuickFire: Jun 24 2009, 08:00 PM |

The movie is full of ridiculous scenes, but i want to ask this: why the hell did john turturro's character feel the need to climb the pyramid? What the hell can he achieve by climbing up? other than a) being killed by devastator b) being killed by rolling rocks c) to get a better look at the balls.
I laffed with my friends in that scene. |
