QUOTE(-kytz- @ Aug 5 2010, 12:12 AM) And i'm looking out for 2nd hand First year Business degree books such as I sold off all already, only have Leadership and Life Skills, Business communication and Year 2 marketing books, lolFinancial Acc 1 Management Acc 1 Prinicples of Microeconomics&Macro Business Law Principles of Management&Marketing Business Statistics Information Technology for Business Basically all first year books for Business degree program.Do pm me QUOTE(-kytz- @ Aug 5 2010, 03:05 PM) I haven't enrolled in yet.The brochure i got only stated the subject names for year 1-3.Didn't all the previous business students study the same books? Anyway, considering you haven't enrolled/registered, I suggest don't buy your books yet.I remember seeing one of the books before in Popular Why? 1 long semester = 4 subjects 1 short semester = 2 subjects The lecturer can decide to change textbooks/ swtich to a new edition so better you just wait until you've registered for the subjects. |

Hi!Thanks for the info I'm still quite new to the "uni system". So don't mind answering a few questions of mine 1) How does the "registration of subjects" work? I can register any subject before a particular semester? 2) Are there exact dates for long or short semesters? 3) How long is a long/short semester? Thanks
1) You can opt to register through the Registry in the main block or you can do it online via MyPride. Don't worry about this as everything will be explained in the orientation. During my first semester (I started in Oct 2008), the Business dept advised all of us to take Microeconomics (ECO101) and Financial Accounting (ACC101). It was a short sem as well You can only register subjects when the semester starts and they give you two weeks of "add-drop" allowance so adding and dropping subjects during that period is fine. 2) Well the exact dates depend on the academic calendar. The dates usually vary between one or two weeks each year so there's no "fixed" dates. However, Semester 1 starts on January (long semester), Semester 2, June (long semester) and Semester 3, October (short semester). After each semester students usually get approx 1 month break. Its a little bit different for Year 2 and 3 students though
is there any1 study marketing communication?? can giv some opinion for these course?? does the subjects taught in HELP deep enough when u r work??
I don't think HELP offers Marketing Communication as a course itself, perhaps you might want to consider Marketing as marketing communication (IMC) subject is offered in that course. However if you want to do it as a full course, you might probably have to pick another uni.

Hoho....i'm in Oct as well ^^ hey, did u stay in help hostel??? wat is the different between help residence n batai hostel??? ^^
HELP residence is much nearer to HELP's main block compared to the Batai hostel. Not very sure if they offer transportation though, you might want to ask the hostel management/counselor. However accommodation at HELP is crazy expensive. Last time I checked it was RM550 each for a twin sharing dorm. I rented a place outside instead to save me the money This post has been edited by reengurl: Aug 17 2010, 11:03 AM |

QUOTE(diversity @ Aug 22 2010, 12:35 PM) Hey I'm planning to transfer to HELP University College after I finish my foundation in business program in Limkokwing University. Is it possible to transfer there? The business courses aren't bad, but I'm not really the one to judge, as I've never studied in another college before. However, at the end of the day, it's still the student's responsibility to work hard And may I ask how's the quality of lecturers and study life there? I heard business courses are very good in HELP. I'm sure there are good lecturers and bad lecturers in every college/university. Same goes for students as well. Quality of lecturers for Bachelor of Business (HONS): So far in my two years, I've only encountered like, 2 out of 10 lecturers whom are lousy in my opinion (rough estimation of lecturers) Study life: Obviously campus life is almost zero compared to other colleges like LKW, Taylors, Sunway...etc. Reason being = No proper campus/facilities. But that will change when the new campus is ready As for your foundation compatibility, like justamember said, better to consult the counsellors. |

QUOTE(objectifyme @ Sep 21 2010, 12:13 PM) I'd like to know if HELP offers a twinning program for a degree course right after diploma -- that's a 2-year course as opposed to the usual three. Thanks. Well if you're talking about twinning for degree, I am not sure about the other courses but there are twinning programmes for the business dept.Depending on what you're majoring in and on the uni, theres 1+2, 1 1/2+ 1 1/2 and 2+1 for University of Queensland. You can probably be exempted from a few subjects since you have a diploma but it depends on HELP so I guess its best you consult the uni |

QUOTE(E-Szee @ Apr 18 2011, 12:19 AM) Hello there... can anyone can me something about business psychology degree in HELP?? Basically, Business Psych is a combination of Business and Psychology subjects. In your first year, you take Year 1 Business papers with the rest of the business students and in Yr 2 and 3 you take psychology papers instead (this was told to me by a friend who is currently enrolled in the course) I suggest you to contemplate before deciding because this is a neither here nor there course if you ask me...because Yr 1 business subjects are rather general (basic economics, accounting, marketing, management..you get the idea) It's a new programme, is that consider a risk on taking that course? I am still blur and dunno what to choose.... T.T QUOTE(deardeer @ Apr 20 2011, 08:35 PM) I'm from Penang but next sem will be my last, haha! |

Well unless you're going to a uni/college specializing in IT, like MMU?
