Oh okay. I dont mean to be rude or anything.. but in terms of applying for universities in UK in the future.. does Cambridge ALevels or Edexcel stand a higher chance? or there's no difference? I'm actually considering Help because I'm tempted with the edexcel system. Haha. and yeah, I'm also worried about the cambridge standard
the depth of the syllabus is the same. but if unis are given a chance to choose between 2 students, one with cambridge and one with london, but both hve the same result, most highly ranked uni will choose the cambridge one. cos in london a-levels u can retake a single paper for a subject, which makes it easier to score.
for example: u get A for paper 1, B for paper 2 (which contributes the most mark), A for paper 3. then your OVERALL is a B for lets say bio.
in both london n cambridge u can resit but the diff is, in cam if u wanna resit u'll have to sit for all 3 papers (paper 1-3) again.
in london lets say ur paper 2 brought ur overall marks down, u can resit for only paper 2 alone.
that's what the head of A-level of my College told me.
but he said though, he assumes that if the london student nvr resit any paper, he/she can be as good as the cambridge one
Added on December 26, 2009, 2:51 pmbut london a-level is always disadvantaged when compared to cambrdge one, somehow it will, little bit
