heres a price update for those who plan to get 400d like me

from midvalley i asked 3 shops so far this is the best deal

400d kit
tripod + bag + cleaning kit and screen protector for the lcd

Rm 2800

if u wan 6 months just divide 2800 by 6

Just being a noob here smile.gif I've been seeing a lot of discussion on the 50mm f1.8 lens. Can someone please help explain what's the advantage of a 50mm lens? Does that mean u cannot zoom in and out with a 50mm lens? Normally lens come in a range for example 70-200mm?

@valho

If it's that case then it's ok. For those who plan to pay in installments I dont think it's a good idea. Just my 2 cents though.
*
If it's 0% installment and if you pay everything in time, it's not a bad idea i guess.

Tell them you are looking for "badak air dahaga"
biggrin.gif

I suppose you can get it from Carrefour?
Why don't you get Silica Gel?
*
Want to ask, what is a cheap way to store the camera and lens dry? I was thinking of getting a plastic storage container to keep the camera and lens in it with silica gel. What is the advice from the sifus? Any special silica gel or will those dehumidifier containers found in supermarket be sufficient?

The USD 120 lens is which one? 50mm F1.4?

The Fotokem at Sunway Pyramid also quoted me RM380. I guess RM380 is their list price. The salesman at another Fotokem that I talked to offered me RM300 though.

@hornet, so you were quoted RM300 for the 50mm F1.8 without UV filter right? biggrin.gif
*
Yes without the UV filter. So when do you plan to get yours?

QUOTE(valho @ Jan 18 2008, 10:06 PM)
the 50mm f/1.8 if above RM300 expensive already, coz the lens alone got shop selling at 280-290, the 52mm UV filter is just 20+ only coz I got one for my 100mm
*
Yes, I know RM300 (without UV filter) is a bit expensive compared to other shop. That's why I didn't buy yet. smile.gif
