If u have the budget and want a better brand than HOYA, go for B+W filters, works better than HOYA filters. Cost a lot more too, but i think its worth it

QUOTE(morph @ Dec 13 2007, 04:27 PM) I guess same goes to my Speedlite's 2AA batts? Yeah, i think the same goes to all rechargeable batteries. Hmmm.... im not too sure about that, word is they can last for around a week before they discharge itself. Some are worst, 1 or 2 days then it'll discharge XDThen i'll have to buy another set for each of them. charging them and not using them, how long could they last? rough estimate la i mean QUOTE(valho @ Dec 13 2007, 04:50 PM) sometimes have no choice but to charge it because not everytime can use until depleted until next event or something. by the way this article is an interesting read on batter charger - go here yeah true indeed, like what i did just now And thanks for the article! good read This post has been edited by R a D ! c 4 L: Dec 13 2007, 05:56 PM |

QUOTE(valho @ Dec 13 2007, 06:00 PM) i remember reading that battery nowadays last longer even if you dun fully use it before charging yes it is, the sun light was subtle enough for the shot, using just the camera flash(not the 580EX) can get good results liao.surprisingly good weather today Here's a shot. My choice of portraits are really different. ![]() ![]() Sorry for the small image, still in the stage of editing |

Managed to bring back the details of the sky without compromising the details on the model too. ^^QUOTE(valho @ Dec 13 2007, 08:55 PM) @R a D ! c 4 L~nice dramatic background thanks@goldfries~yeah doing portrait without a grip is killer, planning to invest on a grip before other stuff QUOTE(goldfries @ Dec 13 2007, 08:57 PM) hehe. doing portrait with a few shots without grip is still ok. doing 700 - 1000. it's like sheesh. look at how the wrist bends and holding the camera to focus and shoot. Try, portrait shooting without grip and with a 580EX II and a heavy lens, that's double the sheesh. do a little chimping. then shoot again. anyway the grip also helps in making portrait shots better aligned. |

QUOTE([ - i l l u s i o n s - ] @ Dec 13 2007, 10:40 PM) yes its cool. The tone splitting tool in Litghroom does wonders. But the downside is its a lot of work, if you're not up to those time consuming post processing then don't touch RAW Added on December 13, 2007, 11:15 pmHere's 1 of the finishing photo. ![]() Like a famous quote I saw by a photographer last time:" Make use of RAW, n see your pictures improve!". No worries, if u train more i think that you'll be a very good photojournalist. There's potential in u.
actually, in the art sense, the 2nd shot is better. Its kind of those abstract shots. It'll be superb if the figure is in full black, kinda makes you wonder what the fella's doing, or what he's shooting at. |

Hmmm, i used M mode mostly now, used to use Av, but after a few outing with a friend i switched to M mode.
Then the settings i used are always on RAW, so any settings on the image parameter wont affect the results you see RAW. Hmmm... I think that's it. |

It's better to get the 580EX II since you're going to save up some money. It's a good flash, plus it has the function to control other canon flashes like the 430EX and the 580EX from a distance, like a strobe unit
guys, did a photoshoot today with my gf. here's the shot^^ just a little sneak peek. ![]() |

QUOTE([ - i l l u s i o n s - ] @ Dec 19 2007, 11:31 PM) yeah this one purely on RAW, 1st time i managed to get the pics right on the set. Then used RAW converter to do some adjustments on the white balance and contrast, did a slight desaturation to get the skin tones right. no la, this is just a shoot that we experiment only, it does look like winter theme haha QUOTE(-vip3rleon9- @ Dec 19 2007, 11:33 PM) >,< that'll set me back another RM1.6k~ that's why u have to save some money i guess i'll wait my skills have extended and i've reached the point where i really do need a flash unit. wow that's your gf? looks like a model. |
