QUOTE(Sichiri @ Dec 1 2007, 09:27 AM) tips on buying graphic cards : Always skip a generation -if you bought a GF4, wait for GF6 -if you bought GF6, wait for GF8 -If you bought GF8, wait for GF10 then you'll really feel the difference, and save a ton of money I actually planing to jump from 6 to 9. lol

There is something cross my mind.
with AMD/ATI being less competitive, I wonder will Nvidia took a chance to shrink the chip even further & more efficient like they did during the transition from GeForce 6 series to GeForce 7 series.
I would like to have a energy/performance efficient chip like to Geforce 7 series.

I'm more interested to see 9600GT with DDR4 by some vendor. Something like the 2600XT DDR4.

I really looking forward to 9600GT, a mid-end chip + 256bit + 512MB,
I have limited PSU juice. So I think I have to stick with the graphic card that run within PCIE 75watt limit.

QUOTE(zhen^wei @ Apr 9 2008, 06:17 PM) i am using glaaxy 9600GT-OC. so far so good. u can buy the 3rd party cooler which can suck the fan out from casing. If I wanted a 3rd party cooler, I wouldnt even waste my time to ask here. 3rd party cooler = void warranty after removal of the fan. graphic card usually have long warranty that last as long as 3yrs.

QUOTE(akachester @ Apr 15 2008, 07:09 PM) Check out the Galaxy 8800GT at LYP on Saturday. Pretty sure the cooler are almost the same as the 9600GT. And yes, it does suck the air out from the casing. The only difference is that it does not come with the PCI bracket like conventional 2 slot cooler. So, you may need something like aeroslots to let the air out thats the whole point of having the bracket, u dont want any leakage of hot air back into casing. my Casing is already hot enough. (Pentium D Ftw!) And I dont plan to spend another RM100-200 just to change the casing. That money can be spend wiser on other place other than better cooler/casing. So spending extra RM50-100 for a OC ver of 9600GT, seems worth to me.
