My boss have given me an assignment to source for 20 digital cameras to be used for indoor shoot during exhibition/event/promotion happenings on a DAILY basis.

The digital camera must be hardy and NOT break down as it is a daily use of taking up to 30 pictures!

My company uses kodak currently, and afetr only 18monts or using, they are breaking down one-by-one...some the card cannot read, the camera like jammed or whatever lah..

Anyone can recommend a hardy, simple to use, point&shoot digital camera and be bought at Dealer's price??? Nobody buys 20 camera lah...so its Cash of course!

thank you.

The cheapest you'll need to look for is A550. Best bang for bucks. All Canon's pns use SD card.

I think it should be A460, priced at RM399. Since you are buying 20, you may get a better price.

woohohoo, never go to fotokem laa kawan, already when there last time to get 12 units, canon bargain, they are selling for retail price, not dealer price lah.
Maybe you can go to bintang maju at maju junction, they are the distributor for canon. You wont got discount for 1 or 2 units, but 20 surely got the dealer price.

But, i think you should consider the new olympus, the one that waterproof, most of the time, camera got broke down because of water, from sweat or rain. So with this baby at least one cause can be eliminate.

Just my 2 cent, I'm not a olympus reseller or what so ever hehehe

wah lau eh! sweat also can meh?I mean, how much sweat do we give out? I mean at the 'press to shoot' buttton?

OK, maybe it is a good advice to not buy the lower end canon...does it aply to all the lower end range of ALL reputable brands? kodak? panasonic, olympus, etc...what abot Fuji digital camera?

Thanks again.

i suggest panasonic for you bro.
the pictures are better and leica lens+wide angle is the most perfect combo for
exhibition/event/promotion happenings like what you stated.

fx33/55 should be good enough.

budget under rm400 inclusive of min 516 memory card...Preferably SD card so we can recycle the old cards too.

We bought the kodak for under rm400...

Its is amount too little? The heavy duty/lasting usage is more important tha the pix quality ad the many features are not even used at all.

The camera is used EVERYDAY to take up to 50pictures and evetry week, these pix are transfered to the PC and downloaded to CD for the clients. The pixs served as evidence that the promotion (in shopping complexes, mall, restaurants etc) took place.

thanks again for all the assitance/advice.

I am still searching for the tahan rasak camera!
