want to ask you guys do you know how to reset predictive text dictionary?
*
1) You install Y-browser
2) Delete the folder "C:\Predic" Just delete the whole folder
3) You don't have to reboot after that, just write a new message and the deleted folder will be recreated and the dictionary will be reseted

Guys, I have a problem here, more of an annoyance la...

Sometimes out of the blue my phone memory (not the RAM) runs out and the phone cries out "memory low, please free up more memory" or something even though a moment ago the free space is 28MB. I found out that the file "lifeblog.db" gobbles up almost all the phone memory suddenly, and it will spill it out maybe half an hour later or longer. During this time, I can't open certain programs and certainly can't save anything in the phone memory. Did you guys ever experience something like this before? I'm using the latest firmware and there's no virus. I can't seem to delete the lifeblog.db or the lifeblog application itself, so do you guys have any other solutions? Thanks notworthy.gif

PS: I don't use the lifeblog application ever

The phone is like that. The only true solution is to restart your phone when this happens. Not too bad la.

If restarting your phone is taking you a long time, maybe it's due to an overloaded memory card. My memory card is 2GB and I have 300+MB left. Everytime I restart, there will be a restart failure asking me to contact retailer blah blah. Don't worry. Normally I will eject the memory card and then restart the phone, then since the phone only reads the phone memory when it restarts then it will only take less than 1 mins (instead of 3 to 5 minutes), and there's no error. Then normally the theme will change back to the original theme and the standby icons are all changed especially if you install most of your programs in the memory card. I will usually manually change the standby icons and the theme. The menu icons are untouched and unaltered. I guess this should come in handy for you.

Nokia delays N-gage gaming service launch

By Tarmo Virki

HELSINKI (Reuters) - Nokia has again pushed back the launch of its gaming service N-gage due to delays in software testing, a spokesman said on Thursday, in the latest blow to the Internet services ambitions of the world's top cell phone maker.

The gaming service, together with a music shop and mapping services, is one of the cornerstones of Nokia's drive into mobile Internet services under its new "Ovi" brand.

Nokia has also pushed into next year expansion of its digital music store offering. Also Warner Music Group Corp has been withholding content from Nokia's only store in Britain.

At the same time it has signed up Vodafone, Telefonica and Telecom Italia for Ovi.

Nokia unveiled the gaming service in August, saying at the time it would be available globally in November. But in November it was delayed into December.

Nokia's spokesman Kari Tuutti said the service would be opened in early 2008.

"We found one more issue which had to be solved before we could open the service," Tuutti said.

Nokia is the first handset maker to move strongly into the content space with services like music or filing sharing site Mosh, where millions have downloaded audio or video files, programs or documents.

I've tested the camera in the newest firmware. After taking a dozen photos and analysing them, I found that it's completely the same as the one in v4.0736~!!!

I have this feeling that memory management is better already, not too sure. After opening and quitting the gallery while test taking the camera and uploading the photos to my computer using bluetooth, the RAM will be totally recovered after I close the gallery each time.

To me, I feel that the update is worth it. It is either not noticeable or beneficial to you. Either way, you don't lose anything. I mean the music player and the camera are not worse than the previous firmware at least for now.

Overall the phone interface is snappier but you still have to wait for app to load. It's more responsive. I think they fixed some of the memory leaks or something. I use many app and open and close them often but the remaining RAM doesn't change much.
The music sounded through the external speakers is richer and has more body.
The camera can be started up quicker than before.
The zoom function in gallery is faster than before (before: about 2-3 sec per click, now :about 1-2 sec per click)

my phone hovers at about 7.3-7.7MB of RAM after using several app and closing them such as the gallery, dictionary, music player, messaging etc. Last time it could drop till 3MB then increase to 5MB then to 7MB then go down again after heavy usage.

It doesn't seem to drop any lower than that when I quit my app and go to the standby screen. During that time I checked and taskman tells me that the following programs are opened: standby, music player, contacts and gallery. I also have timebar running.

The reason for less RAM when compared to startup is because most of it is used to cache programs and contents.
