nice ride there bro. smile.gif

I have always been a fan of Suzuki Gamma ever since I know em. The tuning scene here in Sarawak is very much different from the West Malaysia. They'll use low profile tyres, and lowered it to an insane height, also the front head cover will be removed which means just the headlight without the cover. And the best part is, they'll use TZM's tail light replacing the original light. To me, the TZM's tail light looks really nice and fitted nicely to the OEM tail light frame.

Well then first of all thank you bro for replying my 1st started thread, really glad hearing from TXR fan from across the south china sea there (btw i'm live in Terengganu, i can smell yaa lol)
Back to the topic, I'd friend of mine aswell that live in Sarawak owning a TXR Gamma (quite famous down there huh) mentioned the same way that you describe as per I'd quoted...IMO its more likely been converted like a naked bike rite... rolleyes.gif

consider changing the paint to orange metallic and pearl white on the body and orange metallic on the rims. something like 90s repsol honda racing color thumbup.gif
back then, coupled with twin head lamp, my bike looks bigger in this color. a friend of mine once thought it was a 250cc bike from a far.

p/s: the reason i choosed the txrt gamma over the panther abck then was mainly due to the wider tank(my legs can hold on to it better) and the sharp and sport tail light over the panther's ugly flat butt laugh.gif

Panther Jerung - brings a lot of memories. Speeding through Ipoh town, 160km/h pass Taiping tunnel..

One thing that still puzzles me, is there any difference between Shark and the normal TXR? I've had a lot of ppl asking whether i wanna sell the bike.

well as far i can recall from a friend of mine in MBC...he stated that da only differences between Panther (Shark) & Gamma is that Panther's were using 6 volt of power voltage which been upgraded to 12 volt for Gamma... nod.gif and the second difference's due to its piston as Gamma have one hole on its piston while Panther were plain standard...others than that well most of da spec remain da same..exclude its part numbers laugh.gif

gosh, that sound irritating bro...TXR150 in standard condition unmatchable by 4 strokes like LC135, do you know that FX125 can even easily tapau LC135...
what's your bike top speed & rpm in gear 5 ~ 6...

i need to know your bike spec as well eg.:
bore size / <100
exhaust chamber & muffler / total standard
carb: main jet & pilot jet / M190 P27.5
reed valve / don't used carbon TIP (racing)
sprocket front & rear / F15 R39

there are more others spec you need to complete for archiving standard cruising speed 120km/h but therefore i still requiring some feed back from you.

btw here some cheerful moment to share wiv you guys:

exhaust chamber & muffler /Chamber kosong & total standard (bro exhaust chamber standard was TOTAL needed, racing chamber like custom made/ BM power / AHM 2nd standard were not good at high speed cruising, great pick up tp long tarak, 6th gear RPM drop or engine running wild & knocking.

chamber standard aritu aku dh buang. rosak teruk/kemik , eksiden aritu, sape ada nak jual?
pasal reed valve aritu baru tukar yang standrad punya kut. bukan carbon.
pecah gak aritu.naik bukit tak dapat.
dulu reach 190km/h skang 160-170km/h je

plus certain speed 110-120km/h my engine start with knocking sound, n tersekat2, after >130kmh, baru unleash his true power.

your top speed was in good performance, i believe the bike only lack the standard exhaust, there were still std exhaust in market but pricing might make you faint, hear from bro NastyBoy its around RM600 brand new.

yo bro, if the bore were deeply scratched its totally recommended to due new re boring.

when getting the new piston set try to get the S.G.P set you can see the emboldened ART wording on the side of carved piston.

for the piston ring i recommending the RK piston ring as per use in Suzuki standard S.O.P.

pay attention that piston pin shaft & roller bearing need to be replace, if you're overhauling the whole engine please renew the con rod bearing if it making a sound when you're knocking the con rod with the grand shaft.

costing its depend on which part you're buying at.

the piston pin shaft + roller cost around RM23, a FAITO racing brand.

the piston ring was around RM20+

the piston should be around RM37 n above...pay attention TXR Gamma piston were vary from TXR Panther piston...

total cost should be less than RM100...exclude services.

for the covset try contacting this number, he was my colleague stayed in Melaka he might able to help you from there.

Spein: 017 6012 667

let him know that Pak Nyet gave you this number.

well congrats than bro, u r dem lucky i can say...

which area that you staying there? traffic scenario? there are a few spec need to be seen there, if you're looking for remp in town i suggest the standard sprocket setting 14/42 sure kick ass punyer...

but like mine I'm sticking at 15/39 for ease ride & high top speed its ain't good for any drag starting or low end pit point.

carb jetting at first need to see your engine performances, see the spark plug whether it was lean or rich mixture.

try set the standard setting 1st.

1. start the bike in standard issue for a 3 minutes riding in your neighborhood

2. off the engine while its still warm.

3. turn out the idle screw till the carb piston totally shut.

4. turn off the mixing screw (do not force the screw at it end as you might damage the thread)

5. turn back on at "1" clock wise turning radius.

6. start the bike & turn the idle screw till your RPM meters shows at 1400rpm...

7. turn your mixing screw counter clock wise or either clock wise till your RPM meter goes to it maximum running point.

8. if you'd found the medium point re idle the idle screw back to your designated 750rpm.

9. try take a test ride & see how was it... brows.gif

P/s: to readers please do not use this carb setting if you're using others than specified TXR series, as i do not take any responsibility occur during within or after take place.

Panther Jerung - brings a lot of memories. Speeding through Ipoh town, 160km/h pass Taiping tunnel..

One thing that still puzzles me, is there any difference between Shark and the normal TXR? I've had a lot of ppl asking whether i wanna sell the bike.
*
one more differences bro panther using normal grand shaft bearing but gamma using hi speed fiber bearing ... so it makes gamma got more pick up than panther but panther got top speed ...... gamma jangan pakai chamber lain pakai yang ori baru power ....

hey guys....

i dunno why but my panther seems to be a bit slow as compared to others.my top speed is only 140 ( as u all know, normally it can go up to 170-180).

so, what should i do?

spec of my bike:
block 0.0 (non-original. i tot this might be the cause, bt my fren's rxz using a non-ori block still fast man)
sprocket 14-38
standard exhaust

there many aspect that u should see... maybe ur sprocket not match with ur weight or setting...is ur mainjet and pilot r setting well?
is ur panther got any sign of problem regarding timing... how it perform in low-mid and high rpm? hmm.gif

for ur info iam also using cap itik block and piston but still easily reach 160 and sometime afraid go beyond 180 unless i mixed the 2t with petrol tongue.gif

@z-killer: I think the carb is ok, Mikuni VM26 is used on RXZ and TXR. Just the jetting is different. Tabung ori hard to find, but don't give up just yet. What's wrong with the one on the bike right now? Not ori?

Hi Z, your bike can go 140kmh is probably 2T too thick? Does it spew a lot of smoke at that RPM?

Hi guys... I can see that this topic is not active no more. Anyway, if there is any legends who are still rocking your trx 150 at the moment or any other 80's bikes around kl please share some info on where to get second hand spare parts around KL or Selangor.

I just bought a panther in horrible condition(Puprosely bought it for Rm100 LOL). I bought it because the engine is original first model from between 85's and 90's with the "SSS" beside the engine. The carb is original and not rusty but needs some service to it. Other than these 2 things and the frame the total bike is a disaster.

Im just planning to restore this beast but not to make it look new but to make it just run like a rat road(running rust bucket). My main goal is to not buy new aftermarcket upgrades and just find original second hand spare parts from besi buruk and fix it to the bike. I does not matter if the parts are from other bike as long as it could help the bike to run.

It's really hard to find tho but it should be worth the weight. If you are selling any second part for panther please let me know. If you are selling any original parts from other 150cc bikes please let me know as well cuz they might or might not fit my bike.

These are the main parts i need at the moment.

- Fuel tank(Mine is too rusty inside and needs an operation to clean the rust. Not worth it)
- Front fork set(Its ok if not in condition as long as it can be serviced)
- Monoshock and swing arm set (long swing arms)
- Gears and clutch(need original)
- Exhaust pipe (2 stroke ones)

Thank you. : )
