1. it does improve audio quality if the source sample rate is 32000Hz or less, u cant hear the difference if its 44100Hz.
2. it can help to prevent the audio being resample to 48kHz by crappy soundcard.
im not sure if this is the answer u wan lol.

I suggest you stick with the default theme.. use the quick appearance setup to configure the interface.
