audio upscaling is useless iirc.

try drag all ur mp3 to itunes, and convert ID3 tag to unicode one.
afaik only mp3 has this kind of issue.

there is no ID3V3, the latest one is ID3v2.4 only.
try itunes, seriously, although the installer is huge lol.
drag all ur mp3 to itunes, right clikc > Convert ID3 Tags > either ID3 tags v2.4 or Reverse Unicode, i forget which one already.

the sound quality should be the same the rest is depend on DSP/decoder only.
increase sound quality? use Equalizer, convolver or matrix mixer... forget about it >_>
if ur audio files has 16bit depth, 44100hz, stereo, >128kbps then i think its more than enough, no need to mess with the DSP again.

and dont forget to get a better audio hardware

try reset foobar configurations,
just go the fb2k folder, backup the foobar2000.cfg, or temporary move to recycle bin,
re-run fb2k and will reset all setttings, then try that aacplus online streming again see if its help.

hmm, aacplus bitrate quite low, 24kbps, im not sure about ur prob, but first time i play the online streaming, fb2k also lag afew sec before it can play smoothly, prolly its buffering.

u can try stream again, and monitor the network utilization.

1. it does improve audio quality if the source sample rate is 32000Hz or less, u cant hear the difference if its 44100Hz.
2. it can help to prevent the audio being resample to 48kHz by crappy soundcard.
im not sure if this is the answer u wan lol.

Yeah you need to scan the files, or whole album at once, Replaygain wont work if the file does not contain Replaygain Tag.
