SP2 is required on Windows XP because of the Windows bug in the list box control in XP RTM and maybe SP1 that affected the playlist switcher panel and was reported a few times recently. I just found someone documented it here.

I have no intention to hack around the bug, since SP2 is a free update and has been out for 1.5 years. Its not that big from Windows Update anyway.

none uses less resource.. they're just output

first try directsound. most of the time, you don't even need asio or ks

if i enable ks and resampler 96khz,foobar use around 40% cpu resource... if i use ds, max is only 30%... sweat.gif

using ks with resampler sounds better with tighter bass...

resampler uses cpu resource..

the resampler should work transparently; whether you "need" to use it will be down to your soundcard though.

the output should not be actually better, you just think it is (placebo) wink.gif.

Installed foobar2000_0.9.4.1 and found the setting interface totally changed. I couldn't even find the old setting options. And it sounds like crap.
I decided to uninstall and install back the 2005 version. Get everything set up. Even in wave output (sound keep muted in kernel Streaming), it sounds much more better now.

Anyone manage to tune the new Foobar?

Hi all fubar pro,

Encounter this problem. Tried to evoke the 'write audio cd' option. Was successful before. But recent few tries all ended up burning 30-40% of disc.

Basically spoilt a lot of discs. Anyone encounter this problem before?

I'm using the good old 0.8.3 smile.gif

For those who want to enable ASIO but can't seem to find the driver for it (In my case Audigy LS), you can use ASIO4ALL
