hehehe always happen, as for me, I'll walk away, and some time they will call you back and offer some more. If they dont, there's always another shop that can offer better. Customer always right.

For taking babies and lots of indoor shots, get a Fujiflim F50fd.

For taking outdoor shots with scenery, get a Pana Lumix FZ18 if you don't mind the size.

Agree. If size is not a problem, FZ18 seems perfect.

1.5k seems a good budget for a very good camera. If you fancy small and compact, then you need to live with a less powerful cam.

1.5k is a very good budget for a compact camera,at this much budget u can even think of DSLR type
i would recommend you a nikon or a canon
it is depend on what u want,u can get a slimmer 1,battery last longer?provide wide angle shot?multiple face detection?
but please dont get cheated by the megapixel myth!

Yes, more MP may be bad. Fuji basically ruined their legendary F30, F31's lineage by upping the megapixels and retarding the series' high-ISO capability.

I wonder how long will this mp race will go on. They should set a standard for MP ragarding to sensor. 1/2.5 this much MP, 1/1.6 6mp. APSC and so on. Good for both parties, consumers could get good IQ at all camera ranges and cam makers don't have to spend costs thinking how to fit more mps into nano sensors.

Yeah... because ultimately what pixels will translate to is the display: for computer screens, 72 ppi suffices, for closely-viewed prints, 300 ppi, for large posters, banners, 200 ppi or less.

They could just advertise, say, "8R print size capable" or something like that.

Dear all sifus  notworthy.gif

Am a total noob in digicam, looking to buy a digicam with budget of RM 1500, it should include a bag and memory card, may be 2GB or 4GB.

My requirement for digicam is actually very simple and basic, mainly used for taking pictures of my baby  tongue.gif and when travelling.

At first I'm thinking to get Olympus's shockproof camera, i think is MJU 770SW, think its waterprrof and shockproof features will come in handy as I'm lazy to take good care of the camera  blush.gif

However, after browsing this forum, no many are talking about this, I'll assume this model is not popular coz its no good for you all sifu? How about it for a noob like me?

Or, what would you suggest?

thanks in advance.

Pls consider Ixus 960IS biggrin.gif

The race is just like CPU speed. One day they will come out with dual sensor, hehe.

I prefer miniaturization... smaller sensor with very low noise signals. So I can carry smaller lenses too (lens sizes increase as your sensor size increases). DSLRs the size of today's compacts, and f/2 lenses the size of Pokka coffee cans.

Sometimes it is not the money that matters.

I once bought a DSLR, but ended up sold it in 2 weeks time

Why? Because I am not a DSLR person. I prefer P&S. The time needed to setup the DSLR, is so inconvenient for a newbie
