Hello guys,
Can you help me to improve this case airflow and temperature ?

Not really need to bling2 case, my target just to achieve better airflow and reduce temperature.

Modifications

BTW, I already see Project CaseMod MiniMe by ianho.
Really like the modifications but only questions come across me, does it strong enough like stock case ? (Side panel, top panel and PSU Plate use acrylic)

Thanks in advance guy. notworthy.gif notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

den it would be okay edi
nice but good

woahh cute casing u got there, really

admire it smile.gif

btw, have u installed ur setup inside?
care to show some photo?

will do it after hidden cable hehe

I don't see any place suitable for the psu to be. Maybe just plan the airflow of the proc's hsf with the psu fan by adding a duct. Instead of hot air blowing on proc, the psu will suck the hsf's hot air and blow it out of casing.
As for ianho's mod you've mentioned, it's not the psu's held by acrylic. It was placed at the front, connected to the back.
As long as you don't touch anything which supports the case, the case will still be as strong as before.

As for the top panel, cutting a window will not cause the whole casing to no be strong. Just don't overdo it like cutting to the edge. Otherwise, you'll have a lousy top panel.

Side panel... I've got not much of an idea. Because I think that the psu and the stock fan is blocking all the view. Unless you wanna look at ur nice HDD and a little bit of every other thing, a window wouldn't hurt the casing structure.
*
I thinking to place PSU on 5' Bay also but needed to mod back PSU Plate like ianho.

QUOTE(rainingzero @ Nov 24 2007, 11:37 AM)
acrylic can be break easily ma...so the thief no need to open ur sidepanel also can steal hardware from ur rig...

so maybe no need side window for ur case....

as for the PSU placement, maybe can do like uncle ianho done b4...nod.gif
*
Yup might be not do side window and top window but if i can secure it. Why not ? hmm.gif

QUOTE(ianho @ Nov 24 2007, 01:42 PM)
Acrylic where can break easily 1?  A window with standard industrial grade A acrylic securely mounted to a side panel, is very difficult to break. The windows that r easy to break are those cheap rm150 cases. Coz the cheap cases dont use acrylic, they use cheap transparent plastic which is easy to crack.
*
So, ianho? Can u secure mounted between panel and acrylic. Maybe use screw or anything that can made sure it is tough enough. I think also acrylic is tough, I think seal/glue/mounted between panel and acrylic is the weakest link.

Any idea to improve it mounted ?

First: HDD Bay

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

got 8 screw (4 on the bottom & 4 on the top), unscrew them

change the position of the hdd bay to side way (rotate 90° anti-clockwise)--> less air restriction

1 con if u this way:

every time wanna remove the hdd, u gotta unscrew the 8 screw first..

take the hdd bay out or rotate it to its original position

only by then u able to remove the hdd from it's bay

reason: the mobo blocking, not enough room to take out the hdd

that's why u need to rotate to its original position first, really hassle la rclxub.gif

who cares, it's not like we gonna remove the hdd everyday laugh.gif

Second: PSU

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

change the psu the other way round la shakehead.gif

let the psu exhaust all the hot air trap there

seriously, u don't need the fresh air intake for ur psu la
Third: Graphic Card Area

Intake Fan = Side fan
Exhaust Fan = Blow hole on top, either 1x120mm or 2x120mm, up to you

ur GC temp will drop drastically wink.gif
Forth: Cable Management

the excessive front i/o cable:
buy a cable tie + cable tie base
tie the excessive cable length on the case ceiling cool2.gif

the psu cable:
well, if u change the position of the psu, the cables will be at the down side right
do it like front i/o cable --> tie it to the case floor

if u let it hanging like that --> restrict air flow laugh.gif
mind answering me, what cooler u use for ur proc? blink.gif

btw, i tried all the steps above in my V600

temp drop like shocking.gif

1. Got screw hdd bay ? did not see b4 this. thank dude. will change it
2. orait bro will rotate it around
3. yup thinking blow hole on top. BTW, right now side panel is exhaust fan. so better made it intake fan, right?
4. yup lian li already give me some cable tie, just want to get some idea from you guy first then will tie it when i finish what to do.

My proc use only stock heatsink only.

BTW, what about i change PSU to hdd bay are that good idea ? then put intake fan where psu position now.

yup just simple job...take me only 1 min to unscrew and rotate it then screw back.

just rotate the psu...my CPU temp idle from 60, now become 55. drool.gif

make the side fan as intake fan, that way fresh air goes in from the side panel, hot air goes out though the top panel

u don't wanna to circulate the hot air back into the case

making the top panel fan as intake, exhausted through the side panel, hot air goes out & up --> suck in again by the top panel fan laugh.gif
dunno, can't comment, never tried it before

coz already found the solution (without modding heavily --> just blow hole on top)
*
ok then noted it...blowhole is best idea right ? Will pm ianho bout it then deal with him...

BTW, really want to use acrylic side and top panel but the problem is how i can made the seal is tough as it could be ?

Ok guy, finally I decided want to made :
1. 2 x 120mm top blow hole (exhaust) with vent like side panel
*Better 2 exhaust then one right
2. 1 x 120mm side panel fan (intake)
*Need 1 more for intake air for Processor
3. Aluminum PSU Plate
*Will move PSU to 5.2" Bay for better Processor Air Flow and Temperature

Right now wait quote price from ianho hehe
