I would like to know how much should a fresh first class honours IT/Computing graduate ask for starting salary now?
Is 2.5k-2.6k too high and unrealistic?

yah..just grab any jobs u get first...this crisis will last until next year, so don't really care much about salary, got u think OK, just gor for it...basic salary is the salary they offer not including allowances..even OT will calculated base on ur basic...sometimes high basic, low allowances@incentives, low basic high allowances, OT claims and etc....allowances is some kind of advantages u get when join the company, not all company got allowances, usually car allowances have. It depends on the company.

certain employer will want to see ur current pay slip. some might think of faking the slip but its a risky business. its basically best to state your true current salary and then mark up 20-30% (depending on your digit) for your expected and always put nego.
