i'm sorry to ask this question again
i've read it sumwhere in this thread before but seems cant find it...
regarding negotiating salary with the interviewer...

how to make them offer 1st
and then how we can req them to increase the pay

sorry to trouble u guys
*
I had this experience before. I would like to share a situation that i've done myself. its works, but u must really confident on what u capable of. chances, hurm.. 50-50 i would say..

its my 2nd day on a new company, and another company call for an interview. so i didnt really thinking of moving again, but i just go and try my luck.

talk as i am.tell what i have done and i just be myself.

Interviewer: What ur expecting salary?

Me: Rm4000 (i saw in the advertisement before, the job offer 1800. Hehe)

Interviewer: we offering only 1800, as you are fresh grad in the industry. why u expect 4000?

Me: I have the knowledge, capabilities that worth 4000 and i strongly believe i could make more than that for this company.

(bla bla bla.. some of the chit chat.. then i go home.)

3 weeks later, they call if i would take the job if they offer 3100. but then i said if 4000 then i take it. few of nice talk again, hang up.

a week after that, they call again and offer for 3800. but too bad, i'm already move to another company who offer better.

Moral of the story, i think any interview we go, the important is CONFIDENT and BE YOURSELF.
others will come to you, if its yours. smile.gif

Unlikely to be true.

There's plenty of fresh graduates around. No particular reason to keep increasing their offer unless there's no other graduates around, or you have specialized skills not easy to find which would not be the case since you are a fresh graduate.

i tried that, they offer 1.8k as well...
but i only managed to bargain it to 2.5k
but it's definitely negotiable depending on how to deal with it

although SGD5k, but if the person is competence & decided to develop career in foreign country, then worth it.

to make the future boss more itchy of you, never directly disclose how much you want
boss: how much expeted salary
me: i believe i should be compensated as a top performer.
then just stare the interviewer calmly & remain silent with sweet + confidence smile

then he/she will be surprised & little bit shocked for a moment, & become more interested to have the deal with you

i read it from a book & actually tested it out & it works great thumbup.gif
