what's the job scope?
admin?
engineering firm doing what?
need to know ur degree as well
think engineering firm would require u to have a diploma in engineering
probably 1.8k if u have a diploma
2k above for degree
my guessing, it depends on company n location as well

Not really agree on what you commented about.
I still believe that certification is important to judge the basic skills of candidates during the interview session. Of coz, the experience also important as well smile.gif

Nope. Im more towards installation side. the one in platform is on operation side. and most of 2 weeks on n 2 weeks off is for clients like petronas, shell and so on..

for me, i'm making the new platform and connecting pipe between platform or to the sea. it so call contractor, in malaysia, they practice 60 days and 1 or 2 weeks off. depend. but 60days rotation is normal practice here in malaysia. singapore, brunei, n other countries, they practice on 45days rotation.

its to prevent the people here from mutating. u do mutate, because the floating wood would be the most interesting thing u see and u will tell anybody on board, and all people will look at it till it gone. its rare. the excitement offshore of seeing that will be more than see a naked girl on train in onshore.

Keep applying and grab any opportunity u have. dun think too much and dont afraid to change. I make 1600 as a start, i change 6 company in 12 months, and ur salary will be increasing gradually.

but be ready to anything. I once have no salary for 2 months during my transitions to another job. u will survive, believe me. dont stop trying.

Hehe. Gud point there. I found a way how to present my CV. I put name of project instead of company. highlight what u do than highlight what company you work for. smile.gif

Let me show u some example on that:

Working experience.

1. Pipeline installation Betty-Bakau sept 2008 - dec 2008
55.5km of 28" Pipeline
Title: Field Engineer
Company: ABC
(bla bla bla on description)

2. Topside installation of F9JT-A aug 2008 - Sept 2008
Kumang cluster project development
Title: Field Engineer
Company: ABC
(bla bla bla on project desc)

3. Expansion of Penang port wharf feb 2008 - aug 2008
Phase 3A
Title: Site Engineer
Company: ABC
(bla bla bla)

and so on.. u will look better like that.. instead u put what company u work, u might want to detail it to what the job u have done on that company. interviewers will see more on what u can do, rather than see what company u work with.

it works for me, it might work for u. smile.gif

if you're not sure if they asked for your expected salary, just ask them what's the range for that particular position.. supposed they will provide the range..

What do u meant by mutating because of the wood? Also for all the previous proj u did, u completed it before u left or u left half way through commissioning the project?
