its a mix genre this mobie is.. comedy+'drama'+etc.. XD

this movie was great...make me cry.

Everyone was thinking hell of a comedy but returned with a drama + comedy. Bashing non-stop like an idiot...

it is a complete disaster for chow sing chii comedy.
well , too much hype for his comedy but it turned out to be a so-so drama .
the story is not well linked and there is almost no apex , many things just like passing through only . the plots are there , just the story line is not well designed .

the little monster's super power body movement is too much , looks kidna cheapo and looks like some ahbeng style of movement. chow sing chii's style, ala kungfu + taichii movement , whcih can be seen over his movie kungfusoccer and kungfuhustle .

overall = not a great movie , a movie to enjoy with family members but not with friends .

to be honest , i didnt really enjoy the movie and the jokes are lame and unattractive. call me rude for saying those who laughed so well in the movie is too mcuh . i didnt enjoy the laugh at all, perhaps i didnt laugh at all through out the movie .

I think he change the brand of humor, it seems to target younger audiences and definitely not his regular brand of slapstick. I still like it, but you're right its not a movie to watch with 'kaki' more with family.

honestly , the story line of shaolin soccer is well defined and it has it's own asthetic value inside the story line , except the ending of the shaolin soccer which is a little bit too sudden. biasalah for chowshingchii ending style .

kungfu hustle is slightly dropped below shaolin soccer , the ending is too kua cheong but still the story line is so so , i would say it is still ok to be watched but enough to disappoint the audience .

CJ7 is not really a good movie . yes it is a drama than a comedy , but it doesnt serve itself good enough as a drama. certain plots is there which is good, such as the kid's mark got 65, and the kid cheated in the exam by modifying the mark. but the story line plot is not well connected. some sort of it sounds like a drama , but it doesnt work as a drama. things like suddenly the bad boys become the good friends of the small kid. Meanwhile the fighting between the fat 'girl' and the fat boy is completely disaster for the movie, out of a sudden the kid got the power of the little monster , the poo part is lame. It is just some stupid move where me you or he can write. Think of some kua cheong scene inside the dream , and the real life it is a disappointment. The worst thing is the small alien monster, it was mean to be a commercial item IMHO, why bother to make it comes with all those stupid hand-body-movement which makes it looks al-cheapo, i know it might be used in the austinpower or someother movie. But please bear in mind, if the monster's normal movement is by using it's own leg like human standing , then it is okay to have such movement. Suddenly use the movement of the human is completely off which is a major turn off for the movie .

sorry for my harsh word, CJ7 deserved 1 out of 5 point . some people will just say that i thought it is a comedy or whatsoever, but yes , i was expecting it as a comedy, but when it is a drama , i will look at it from the point of a drama. the fact still remains that the story line sounds too messy and not well defined, it's like u got good ingredients to make a cake but u ended up with wrong steps when trying to set-up the cake, get what i mean.

I would say that among chow sing chii movie, the god of comedy is one of the worst in terms of comedy. but heck i would vote it as one of the best recent movie which he has done, becasue it is more like a drama, it works like a drama , no kua cheong stuff int he ending . and that is really the story line of the drama . For this CJ7 , sorry , no point having such lame movie .

Probably shaolin soccer had set the benchmark and audience expectation so high...

it is a well known fact that the stephen chow movies usually have weird and super kua cheong ending . such as fly up to the sky and god comes out or whatever . but in the other movie , such as his old movie , and the god of comedy the kua cheong level is slightly reduced in the ending .

for his latest movie , such as shaolin soccer , the ending with the super power something is one of the turn off of his jokes in the rest of his movie. doesn't really connect well , it is like rushing to finish the movie so he tried to use some super fast way to end the movie.

kungfu hustle the kua cheong level is there . i am not debating about kua cheong-ness in his movie . but at least in this movie ,there is not so many kua cheong ending , such as in his previous movies .

the fact still remains that this movie story line is so so . considering i dont put chow ching chii into the field that movie is a major turn off.

I still think, you're not yet fully understand and know what stephen's movie was. Maybe you should start explaining to yourself what is the meaning of each title movie that you'd watch.

Oh yeah, talking about rushing to finished the movie? Maybe you should start figuring yourself. Majority peoples will get bored when the scenes/movie drags too long... You should understand that first before start bashing.

i haven't watch yet, but by reading all those comments here, i won't expect much from this movie

watched the Fight Back To School 3 on TV3 yesterday, shifting gear in the elevator ftw, elevator racing

i miss the those shows where there is no CGI.
just need pure acting or lame props, slapstick comedy at its best

"kua cheong" means something 'over-do' in Cantonese, I could not think an English word,

but well, Stephen Chow, really want to put this in some heavy pressure I think, since Shoalin Soccer and KungFu Hustle, I think this movie is a success,

if with some more budget, I wish to see it on a series, 7 chai is so cute,

- the doremon stuff, if they still will use, it is going to rock, hehe
