Hi, just like to open a topic for Remote Control Vehicles that runs on water.

Suddenly I'm tempted into getting myself something water based.

The types of Remote Controlled Water Vehicle I know of are Boats, Yatch, Submarines.

Anyone who has experience with these R/C would be kind enough to share us your experience, what to look for, which brand is better and where in Malaysia can we find one reasonably priced.

I myself looking for something you can play around the pool side. Something not too fast yet enjoyable. I just read from some Japanese Magazine that they have Submarines now. Looks kinda cute, anyone tested em?

Actually I'm thinking of something slow, maybe a sailboat or something. But imporatantly it must be fun and last long so I don't have to worry the boat getting stucked in the middle of a pool.

I see Kyosho sells lots of these stuffs but any other brands? Kyosho are hard to find in Malaysia.

Swimming pool if in Condo at night when they close the pool should be OK???

Submarine safer lo, for us but need to buy bigger one scare pple swallow it...

I know they sell boats in some shopping centres, but they look cheap... Looking for some better ones. I haven't seen any sail boats or yatch at the moment.

I'm posting it again here cos some moderator closed my earlier topic! (This seems to happen here quite often). So, it's now here as the mod says it's relevant.

Ever wanted to build your own yacht from plans, the way model airplane guys do, out of balsa wood, etc.? Now you can do it with this book by Bryn Heveldt which I found at Kinokuniya.



I figure it won't cost that much to build. The most expensive part would be the 2-channel R/C system, the balsa wood and the fibreglass skin+resin. The other parts required would just take a lot of time and effort but the result should be quite entertaining. I believe this RacingSparrow will be a hot hobby project over time. Added on June 2, 2008, 7:26 amUPDATE: I've found a source for balsa wood - Hobby World at Amcorp Mall. Going to head there next time with my shopping list of thicknesses, dimensions, etc.

Has anyone here ordered the Racing Sparrow book yet?
