PJ, Rainbow is technically not a US SF team. Hehe. They're based at Hereford what. It's US initiated, but backing mostly comes from UK.

QUOTE(BurgaFlippinMan @ Mar 7 2008, 11:19 PM) Actually, in the novel, isnt it an international team? I remember it had some NATO connections and a US fund backing. The teams itself is international. Support staff is mostly from UK with the exception of a few.Anyway I actually just got into the first game recently, and while it is enjoyable, I do miss the old school hardcoreness of the original title (sames goes for Ghost Recon) |

Foowah... the XP and rewards system looks cun. They should implement this in COD4. Certain actions only awards particular XP traits.

QUOTE(Gurdian @ Mar 16 2008, 08:15 PM) Yea, the very first Rainbow Six game for PC yeeaaaars ago. Hehe I don't bother with all the planning. Instead I just use one team of 4 instead. Simpler. Spend 1 hour choosing and equipping your team. Another 1 hour to plan the team strategy and waypoints. ...and 1 shot to get killed and start over. (there's no heal teammate feature) we've come a long long way |

QUOTE(Zerg1008 @ Mar 20 2008, 02:42 PM) That's why better play game with no respawns instead of regular TDM.Ashe, lemme know if you want to co-op. The story mode on realistic can really pull hair sometimes. T-Hunt now seems easier somehow. Which is a blessing since you don't unlock the Shield until you reach the last Assault level. Oh yeah.... The Krinkov rawks in the game! This post has been edited by MK84: Mar 21 2008, 10:29 AM |

This time co-op get the whole crosscom style cut-scene and all.
Hmm lots of Cisco stuff in game. From the Crosscom feed all the the way to the Cisco IP Phone with that distinctive ringtone, ie 24 CTU phone. For a while I thought Third Echelon is involved in the game, but then now I remember R6 exists in Ryanverse. This post has been edited by MK84: Mar 21 2008, 02:27 PM |

QUOTE(arj @ Mar 21 2008, 02:31 PM) Slightly off-topic, Tom Clancy no longer owns his own name Ubisoft bought the rights to the name. Previously the right was owned by Rubicon, Clancy's own company.http://www.gamespot.com/news/6188151.html?...estnews;title;4 ... and another Jack Ryan movie is on the horizon http://www.variety.com/article/VR111798261...egoryid=13&cs=1 What I worry is this statement: QUOTE To that end, Guillemot talked up how Ubisoft now has "complete editorial control" over the Tom Clancy brands, which would allow characters from one of the various series bearing the name to appear in another. This crossover potential would be especially important in games, he said, declaring, "It will allow for cross-fertilization of characters between games like Super Smash Bros." Now that opens up a whole can of worms. The hallmark of the Tom Clancy brand has always been close-to-realistic potrayals of tactics, equipments and story. Now that Ubisoft has complete control, they could easily dilute it, like what EA did to Janes with their Janes Combat Simulation brand. But then.... QUOTE That said, Guillemot also revealed the Clancy deal's limitations. For one, it doesn't include exclusive rights to Clancy's past catalog of books, the rights to which are shared among several parties. Second, the deal does not include rights to books or films set in the Rainbow Six universe, which remain with another, undisclosed party. Wahei! So at least Ryanverse is safe.... for now....
