certs is just something to get ur resume being noticed... biggrin.gif
end of the day, it still depends on ur experience and how many SAP projects u hv did b4...
more exp = more chances for demand better salary...

Added on October 27, 2008, 7:43 pmwhy? do u think that those so-called MBA holders really know how to MANAGE and LEAD people?

M'sia is still lacking of experienced SAP Basis Consultant especially on JAVA stack
For those whom are aiming for SAP Basis, learn about JAVA and its Web Implementation
Why? Even the consultants from SAP M'sia have limited know-how on this JAVA topic

also there's still a lot sap projects le. like my company, mostly middle east projects and china projects. then axon also got norway project uk project amsterdam project. then ecenta got australia project got sweden project got uk project. and accenture got a lot singapore and msia project. deloitte got jakarta and thailand project. if u know japanese lang, japan got even more projects. ibm got singapore and msia project. if can try join SAP itself, they got a lot ECC, BO & BI upgrades projects now. shell also got projects going on. can try obtech also, but mostly msia projects for B1(this was last year). BAT also got projects now. Chrysler also got (last year got headhunter from UAE call..vacancy in germany) and a lot a lot more... so don't give up la. there's still a lot projects that i havent heard of yet, but is going on now.
*
for me, it's not the amount of projects available in the market but rather the amount of people that have solid and mature SAP skill in m'sia
it's just too sad that SAP embark in the learning strategy whereby it's *not* cheap for people to take up SAP
can't even find any published SAP Learning Materials out there
a fresh grad and learn up programming, DB or Networking by reading; but not with SAP

moral of the story
- SAP projects will be growing. that's for sure
- People that are able to support SAP system? getting lesser and this will be a good op. for people to venture in should u can get the hiring company to send u for the expensive SAP training

Is SAP Consultant supposed to know JAVA stack in depth?
Are they suppose to be coders/programmers or are they suppose to be business analyst?
*
Both ABAP and JAVA stack should the mastered by a SAP Basis Consultant
For a SAP Functional Consultant, it's a total different field all together

Why programming and BA being mentioned here???

The JAVA that i'm talking about is about the technology of Java (e.g. JVM, Web Services and etc)
not the java programming code.

All SAP professionals, would like to seek your kind advice!  smile.gif

Have been working as SAP Data Administrator (SD & MM) for about 3 years (Job scope involves basic Customer & Material Master Data & Pricing Data maintenance). Seeking possibility to get SAP Certification in SD, MM, B1. Questions as below:

1) What are the best/recommended SAP Certification Training Centre in Selangor (PJ area) / KL?

2) How much is the tuition fee per module? How long does it take to complete the course if taking part-time?

Many thanks in advance.  smile.gif

nope i dont think so..

companies are usually very cost conscious and i dont think they pay so MUCH just for its name. normally they would engage consulting firms like Accenture for e.g for a solution.. for sure Accenture wanna untung a LOT of money so they propose to use SAP... then company sure reluctant coz so damn high pay... so Accenture will send in its BEST marketing and sales people in and 'psycho' the top mgmt of the company til they nod. then these sales ppl untung commision in millions of ringgit and accenture earn commision from SAP + consulting fees... then after implement the customer baru realize kena tipu, so didnt use much.. force its staff to use it so that wont waste money lol
*
sometimes the company is just too *loaded* and won't care if they get cheated or not
as they are spending our tax-money smile.gif if u get me...

I would say that SAP products will have its strong and weak points from my 1 year experience on ECC, NW and Basis stuffs
In term of technology wise (especially on Java Stack), it was well thought off
This statement is from my 5 years experience on Java and web technology

Sad to say this but it's the experience of the so-called System Implementer (SI) in M'sia that pull down the reputation of the system
OMG, their consultancy tips can really get you on Mary-go-around but end of the day, my issues were not solved yet
And they are one of the top certified SI by SAP M'sia smile.gif

And talking about *experience*, I have met with many Basis guys saying that they have how many years of implementation
U know lah, mostly are those from India / Malaysia SI sweat.gif
Talk only without any solid justification to the suggested solution whistling.gif doh.gif
Still, they can't even solve my Java Performance Issue after half a year of implementation and ended I'm solving it myself (mind me, I'm a new-comer to SAP stuffs) tongue.gif

Well, I can't disclose too much of my issues at my company here (P&C)
But venturing to SAP field is somewhere fun and challenging if you know what area you want to be focused on
