certs is just something to get ur resume being noticed...
end of the day, it still depends on ur experience and how many SAP projects u hv did b4...
more exp = more chances for demand better salary...

Why? Even the consultants from SAP M'sia have limited know-how on this JAVA topic

it's just too sad that SAP embark in the learning strategy whereby it's *not* cheap for people to take up SAP
can't even find any published SAP Learning Materials out there
a fresh grad and learn up programming, DB or Networking by reading; but not with SAP

moral of the story
- SAP projects will be growing. that's for sure
- People that are able to support SAP system? getting lesser and this will be a good op. for people to venture in should u can get the hiring company to send u for the expensive SAP training

Both ABAP and JAVA stack should the mastered by a SAP Basis Consultant
For a SAP Functional Consultant, it's a total different field all together

Why programming and BA being mentioned here???

The JAVA that i'm talking about is about the technology of Java (e.g. JVM, Web Services and etc)
not the java programming code.

u know one thing i HATE about the training by Axon?
They ALWAYS cancel the courses even u hv enrolled in it!!!

Damn Axon training!!!

ABAP is still OK as there are lot of participants...
I'm referring to Basis course (ADM, TADM)... always Fong Fei Kie one...

i think they are aiming to get more people get certified so that they can boost about how skillful malaysians are in SAP.
marketing strategy lah...

some companies will still go for cert. e.g. MBA
to go for the next level of exam, u need the supporting documents from ur current company indicating that u hv > 3 years exp.
and details of what hv u done b4 during these years
i saw some sample documents from sap m'sia last time. perhaps u can get from them?

I would say that SAP products will have its strong and weak points from my 1 year experience on ECC, NW and Basis stuffs
In term of technology wise (especially on Java Stack), it was well thought off
This statement is from my 5 years experience on Java and web technology

Sad to say this but it's the experience of the so-called System Implementer (SI) in M'sia that pull down the reputation of the system
OMG, their consultancy tips can really get you on Mary-go-around but end of the day, my issues were not solved yet
And they are one of the top certified SI by SAP M'sia

And talking about *experience*, I have met with many Basis guys saying that they have how many years of implementation
U know lah, mostly are those from India / Malaysia SI
Talk only without any solid justification to the suggested solution
Still, they can't even solve my Java Performance Issue after half a year of implementation and ended I'm solving it myself (mind me, I'm a new-comer to SAP stuffs)

Well, I can't disclose too much of my issues at my company here (P&C)
But venturing to SAP field is somewhere fun and challenging if you know what area you want to be focused on
