Hello guys, I'm a newbie in SAP. Just wanna stop by and bump up some questions regarding to my recent job offer. So doubtful whether to take this offer or continue with my engineering job or to look for other SAP job. Your advise and answer is always appreciated.

1. Is SAP BI = Tester ?
2. SAP BI is not a functional role? If no, can SAP BI get into SAP functional?
3. What is the actual job scope as a SAP BI?
4. SAP BI or ABAP, which one is better?
5. any prospect regarding to SAP BI and SAP functional, please comment....

I'm very interest in ABAP since this is a programming position but I've been offered as a SAP BI.

BILLION THANKS!!!!

Thanks chezzball.

SAP BI seems like a big part of SAP. But the part which generate report is a little bit bored to me.

How do u know its bored when u never tried?
You still gonna do quite a lot of abap in SAP BI/BW anyway..

depends what kind of person u are lah.

if u love programming then go ABAP.
if u love business process and love challenges and solve problem -> SAP MM/SD/WM
if u love maths, figures, accounts -> SAP FI,CO
if u love designs, databases, playful -> SAP BW

the rest i dunno coz i no experience, there are SAP PS,PLM,CS,CRM,BASIS.

abt the playful part, it is fun to move the objects around but u must have good imagination coz u will never know the architecture u design work or not until u actually load the data(it's a pain to get real data coz most of time dummy data won't show whether ur design fits the actual situation or not)
