In terms of prospect, I personally think that ABAP and/or Java has better future than Basis. Basis is the layer beneath the front-end interface within the legacy R/3 system, which will become obsolete in a few years time and replaced by newer SAP ECC, which utilises the web application server which supports web services.1) I'm a newbie here, and in need of advice.
