QUOTE(imax80 @ Aug 29 2010, 09:20 PM) good understanding in accounting is great advantage, but i found those from IT background with basic accounting skill can catch up very fast in SAP FICO. Thanks alot for the information. I've got a couple of light IT background such as CCNA, C++, and Visual Basic Programming from self interest. Research on general overview of FICO and its organization structure from company code to posting GL account would be a great start. Are there any specific things I should have knowledge of for SAP FICO? |

QUOTE(imax80 @ Aug 29 2010, 09:28 PM) It is not easy to get in straight away, but they are some companies that hiring fresh as support level and junior abaper. Most obivious is Axon ABAP boot camp, they are some people willing to have paycut just to work in SAP industry for future better prospect. Thanks alot so much for your information! This is by far the best explanation I've gotten regarding this matter.I have worked in several multi national companies before and most of their SAP support are being hired internally(their end-user who have work with the companies for long time and transferred as SAP support) Added on August 29, 2010, 9:57 pm Good understanding in database development and relationship is great advantage, since you gonna deal with a lot of configuration i.e the inter-related configuration of company codes, cost/profit center, vendors, customers,GL accounts, currency, exchange-rate,posting keys, document types etc, you need to find out where all these are being stored in SAP tables and what are the keys and make them inter-related. You also need to have good ideas in business processs to provide solutions to your clients/customers. If you have past programming background is a plus. With good understanding with SAP FICO tables, business process and good logic thinking will certainly help you to develop functional specfication/requirements for ABAPER to develop. You need to be brave to explore all the functionality/configurations to success in this area, i have friends you have done this and now they earn 5 figure income and experience work in so many multi-national companies in a young age. But becareful when you trail and error always consult with your superior/seniors, simple configuration changes could affect the operation in production server, I also have friend who have done this and have to take the responsibility of resigning from the company because the affected operation caused losses to the company I'm currently studying accounting, but i feel my interest really lies in the IT side, more specifically programming, I seem to excel in that part. Someone recommended that I take up a SAP FICO since I seem to fit into that description. So here I am, seeking help from experienced professionals. |

QUOTE(Sap-py @ Sep 13 2010, 11:45 AM) Yes, we are still hiring. Please refer to the following online advert. Interviews are currently going on. Just a little curious, does HCL AXON provide any internship opportunities? I'm currently studying Accounting and E-Commerce and very interested in pursuing SAP in the future as my career...Pm me if you need more info. http://www.jobstreet.com.my/jobs/2010/7/de...099527.htm?fr=J There was also an advert in The Star. Though the advert on Jobstreet is closed, you can still send in your CV. Also, I've recently got an internship position at PwC in the Risk Assessment Services team. Does that have anything to do with SAP, or would it help me in the future? Thank you. |

QUOTE(optyx_spider @ Oct 7 2010, 01:55 PM) I'm not sure if it has anything to do with it but I really think you should go. PwC is a big company and having them in you CV can be really2 helpful Thanks alot for this reply, it really does help.I just have one last question I want to ask, I foresee that my career ahead of me involves around SAP FICO. I recently got another internship offer from Deloitte under the SAP department. Should i go for PwC System, Process Assurance, or Deloitte SAP? Sorry to be asking so many questions in this section, I'm really facing a huge dilemma. |
