Heard that SAP exam fee cost RM35k!!
Wondering how people afford to throw so much money to just take an exam, if failed then another rm 35k again...you can even startup your own business with that much money.
*
no no..the course is 30k++ on average but the exam itself cost is very much cheaper..I heard that SAP basis exam cost 1.8k..so i think the rest should be around the same price..if you fail the exam, you will need to pay for the exam fee again..

well, in general the course is VERY expensive but the exam is very much cheaper..For them to be certified, they have to take an exam right? If not, how can you be certified. Just attending the course is not enough as most people will just sleep in the class. The class is conducted just like normal office hours. 8-9 hours on average and it is very tiring as well.

What is the job description for SAP Support and SAP Service Desk Analyst? Anyone know?

Do these two jobs can lead me into SAP field in future since I am a fresh grad without any SAP Knowledge? Will this be a good chance for me?
*
I do think that both SAP support and SAP service desk analyst points = system administrator..or in SAP, they call it SAP admin..
As far as I know, only SAP basis does these kind of job. SAP basis is on technical part of SAP...and usually, SAP technical is not as well paid as the functional. But it would provide you with good understanding of the whole operations of SAP...and it is not like you cannot jump from technical to functional...

@any one please correct me if i'm wrong~~

@HybridMaestro

I suggest you wait for 2-3 months as working on a big project will give you lots of knowledge~ eventually you will need experience working on a project to demand salary when you are hopping. But if you do get offer to work on other projects, that is a different case..

@badzeugene

What I meant by "simple yes" is, having a cert is definite an advantage you have over those who do not have. Although I'm new in these field, I can see the main reason why companies(esp outsourcing com) want people with cert .mainly because they want to promote their company to their possible client. And in order for a company to be SAP business partner, the staff have to be certified(I'm not sure all or just a certain percentage)

Thanks for the advice. I've been thinking for quite some time. Thus I've decided to stay and see through all this. I'm going to be here possibly until March. Hopefully i get to join the team after that. (finger crossed) biggrin.gif

BTW, I would like to know does staying in the supporting role earns more or the implementation earns more?
I've known people who work in consulting firms for sometime and get head hunted to work for some MNC for easily 5 figures a month. But work in those MNC are usually supporting roles rite?
*
People are saying that functional earns more..how much more I'm not sure but I think SAP basis is quite handsomely paid as well. So if functional earns more, they must be super rich.

To get 5 figures in MNC it is quite easy (esp if you have 4-5 years exp)..hahahaha...but it all depends on your skills and technical knowledge..

It depends on which industry the MNC is involved in. If the MNC is Shell(not IT based), you should expect supporting roles. If IBM or Atos Origin (IT/SAP outsourcing comp), you might get to do projects/consulting as well...= anyone care to comment on this. XD

how if compare SAP Basis pay with ABAP pay? which one higher? smile.gif
*
all i know is one guy from my dept used to be an abaper, was paid 800/day when he was doing consulting. But that guy is damn good so maybe he deserves the pay ( or maybe he lied to me) ..the rest, I have no idea.

Hey guys, appreciate any answers to my questions here:

I got an offer from an SAP company. Will undergo a 1 month SAP training for certification and if i am succesfull will be working as SAP Junior Consultant.

I have 3 years experiences in Retail Industry but i have Diploma in Science Computer. All of the programming works, i don't really remember it now. Will they train me the programming again in the training or do they expect me to answer some test before the training?

Thank you.
*
You dont need to do programming ..unless u are a ABAP..thats a different case. If your company is sending u for a MDEC course, you will need to answer some test.

is it possible for me to get into ABAP without ABAP certification? i'm fresh grad, hopefully can get into ABAP..
*
cant really answer that ..but i think will be yes but not directly. Meaning you have to work with a company that is using abap first. later apply for abap position

I'm a systems engineer aka programmer entered Accenture with total zero SAP experience as a Freshie. I am told to be in SAP projects.

Do you guys think i'm in a good track for good future and salary?
*
I have to say that in every field, SAP included, you are paid based on your knowledge and nego. skill. So if you know more, you will be paid more. Going thru a project cycle is the best way top gain knowledge. So I say, yes you are in the right track to get good money. But it depends on how much passion you have as well, so times when your only motivation is monetary reward, the does not really help with your work.

Does all freshie who enter into the SAP consultancy field get bonded by the company?
*
In most situation freshies need SAP training and the training is "paid" by the company = that explains the bond..

@optyx_spider, thanks for yr reply.  notworthy.gif

so if the freshie is already SAP certified in the relevant module, but without SAP working experience, then is there still any basis for the company to bond?
*
the company will eventually find reasons to bond you..you maybe required to attend another training...hahaha

by the way SAP seniors = is it relevant if I'm taking ITIL certification??..if not can any of you suggest any cheap2 course (below 5k) hahahah

Do you think Siemens use SAP?
most likely yes.but most prolly they outsourced it

there are companies that are willing to take fresh grads and send them for SAP training..like accenture, axon and t-systems..but of course with bonding la..
