http://www.vr-zone.com/articles/Biostar_TA..._9850/5711.html they say biostar 780 able to run phenom...but : QUOTE(SomeBiostarStaff) However, Biostar cautioned that certain areas like PWM and chipset do get pretty hot after prolong load condition so make sure your case is well ventilated" This post has been edited by pikacu: Apr 15 2008, 07:31 PM |

QUOTE(cyew86 @ Jun 28 2008, 03:36 PM) it's been a month since there is any update on this thread there is, but not much..anyone knows what's AMD up to nowadays? any plan for phenom improvement? Two 45nm Phenom X4 and cheap ultramobile CPU in Q4 : http://www.nordichardware.com/news,7886.html QUOTE AMD isn't in the best of places right now. Intel is reclaiming much of what AMD managed to grab during the golden K8 era and judging from what we've seen of Nehalem, AMD isn't exactly heading for a better place. Fortunately, AMD is trying to keep the head up high and it's getting ready to complete its current processor lineup with some energy efficient versions of its triple and quad core processors later this year. Phenom X4 9350e (2.0GHz), Phenom X3 8250e (1.9GHz) and 8450e (2.1GHz) should appear in two months. All specified to work in the 65W envelope. In the fourth quarter, AMD will unleash its two first 45nm processors in the form of two new Phenom X4 models based on the Deneb core, which will be followed by Propus-based CPUs in Q1 2009. Indicated by previous roadmaps, Propus lacks the shared L3 cache. AMD hopes to get retail Deneb up to 2.8GHz, while Propus models should land at 2.6GHz at best. Both of these are AM2+ (DDR2), but should be upgraded to AM3 and DDR3 in 2009. Beside the retail models, AMD is planning to unveil its cheap CPU targeted for ultramobiles we mentioned a few days ago. The CPU is based on a slightly stripped down version of the K8 core and is targeted for the fast growing ultramobile market. The advantages of AMD's processor is of course that the northbridge is more or less on-die, which results in an overall lower power consumption and simpler design than CPU plus chipset. AMD is expected to present its product before the end of the year along with a couple of products from high-profile partners, e.g. HP, with product availability in Q1 2009. news for upcoming K10 Phenom (impressive result, but not the TDP..)
AMD's upcoming CPU/GPU platform to catch up with Intel? : http://www.tgdaily.com/content/view/38171/135/ QUOTE San Francisco (CA) - At the moment, AMD GPG (former ATI Technologies) could be considered as the only division in AMD that is firing on all cylinders. The 7-series chipsets, the mobile Puma platform, XGP and the Radeon 4800 series are all fantastic products. The CPU division had less luck with its recent products, especially if you think about the underestimated competitive threat from Intel, the catastrophic Barcelona B2 revision and a 45 nm architecture that is about to miss its initial launch target. But things are changing and the company may be able to compete with Intel sooner than some may think ![]() On the product side, AMD wants to regain influence in the enthusiast market with affordable, but highly overclockable processors - such as the upcoming Phenom 9950. AMD is apparently shooting for a 12,000 CPU score in 3DMark Vantage. However, we were not able to get any specifics about the overclock required to hit this point. Since current Phenoms are checking in at less than 10,000 scores, we would expect a 20% higher clock rate. p/s: according to Fudzilla, the TDP is 140w |

QUOTE(LohMaiGai @ Jul 2 2008, 08:58 PM) it is hard to believe on what amd had said. last time, she said phenom will be how many percent better clock to clock comparison with intel's product, now what is happening? generally, not even on the same level.... and this is compared to kentsfield, not yorkfield err?Amd said that their current Deneb can't compete with Nehalem, you did not believe that? |

Phenom X4 (Deneb) seems very promising (not to compare to Nehalem)
those existing benchmark on internet was on SB600//Sb700 mobo.. with lower power consumption.. i wonder what Ghz they can archive with SB750 |
