Democratic Action Party (DAP) Secretary-General Anthony Loke Siew Fook emphasized on the podcast program "The Loke Focus" (*关键陆点*) that he has never used the tax exemption issue of the Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT) Foundation as a political tool. He stressed that he has never let TAR UMT down and will request Prime Minister and Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to treat this as a "special case" during this week's cabinet meeting to restore the 10-year tax exemption status for educational institutions. When other private unis are charging RM100k+ for a degree course, tarumt is only charging RM40k. Any surplus are channeled back for future building, upgradings and scholarships. Recently they have this massive building with a rooftop football field and track for the students. Very expensive yo. Did their fees increase?....don't think so. Sumore this uni no quota, any race can masuk belajar and also automatically get scholarship as long as ur academic fulfil the requirements. Don't fcuking care if its mca or dap or pas or umno that is managing it, as long as the university serves the interest of everyone equally, I think it should be granted tax exemption to continue keeping the fees low. This uni is literally built demi maslahat |
