About .mac accounts, its free to signup right? but is it true we should pay every year if we use it?

I think you should go search before you post.

And to answer your question, yes there is a free trial. You should pay if you want to use longer than the trial period. Don't pay if you have the money or don't feel like it. Non compulsory.

I don't think I will be using the iDisk or the @mac email address , why pay when u are not using it ?

http://www.apple.com/dotmac/ I believe with simple reading from that address you can get some idea whether you should pay for the .mac account.

I believe Vista don't have problem accessing iDisk smile.gif

You can get the same privileges just by getting a hosted service somewhere else.

There's also the open source alternative called notmac. http://www.notmacchallenge.com/

You do loose out on the cool email address (@mac.com) and back to my mac integration.

Other than that, there's nothing much to look forward to. Surely doesn't worth the 400 bucks for me. smile.gif

And you get to keep the email address, even if you're not paying for it. It won't work though. smile.gif

Someone claimed that you can keep it working if you were to forward it somewhere, but I'm not sure whether that's still working.

Anyone can verify this?
