Putting this out there because I’ve been looking out for new job opportunities in the last 18 months or so. I’m not sure if this is a thing now but from my past observation..
I can see a lot of jobs advertised, they are not good quality jobs. Not good quality in a sense that it’s asking for a lot of requirements, job description needs candidates to do 10 people’s jobs, qualifications asked for IDK sky high qualifications and whatever. But the salary offered? Somewhat higher than fresh grad salary.
Another thing I noticed…is that there has been an increase of customer service roles. What gives? I understand Malaysia is a cheap country to look for hires but there are just too many customer service roles and similar.
I’ve also noticed there are a lot of contract roles too. When I applied in and got the interview I’ve asked them will there be chances of getting absorbed as permanent staff. Most seemed reluctant to say yes. Some others say no but will offer chances to renew contract for another 12-24 months. But if that’s the case the salaries aren’t all that higher as well.
Is this really the current climate of what the Malaysian job market looks like? What solutions are there to this?

your give details on your observation but to do not provide specifics on your industry, job type and experience. it is hard to come up with any useful feedback other than replies like "yeah man, the market is very bad now". if this is what you're expecting, your thread belongs in Serious Kopitiam. Not Jobs and Careers.
