First of all, already set 250k now increase to 300k important? For me this category already T20...
Secondly it will encourage brands to CKD here... Actually most of them dont do much also what if you see what Honda, Toyota etc are doing. Engine gearbox still from oversea. Here just stamp body parts, seats, lights, HU etc.
EV adoption goodies is not a long term plan but rather a short term plan. Everyone knew Malaysia survived on huge collection on excise duty. That is not going away regardless of your hope.
Lj la. Keep saying ev tax exemption will end in 2025 and ev price will naik. Now already may 2026, apa lj also no naik. Kesian those ev sheeps who kena tipu to buy ev before 2025 end.
he is right....yet again....macam flipping roti canai and still got people wanna blame it on P1
more like gorv accidentally notice all these car manufacture trick. so they just step on them and kill it.
you saw the way byd on hold their ckd project, pushing viral/rumor information for netizen to force gorv then you know byd have shit in their pant. while other ckd manufacture has no problem...must be undertable with gorv kan kan kan? owait

Those models imported before exempted from RM250k min price but their import duty now is slightly higher. It is like a honeymoon period now while waiting for them to start up local assembly. Lets see if MITI will take action next year if still didnt start producing locally (actually I think they are looking at Proton. Once Proton got local assembly running, hammer ban will come down).

T20 rm13k monthly household income, can barely afford a myvi, let alone a 300k car.
T1 basic income dunno, but assets 2.2M. I'm comfortably above that but never thought wanna buy a 300k car. So the total addressable market for 300k car maybe T0.5? How many households in t0.5?
proton already no.1 in ev... why still need to protek?
that's because proton isn't the one needing protection proton parts are almost all made in china except the few leftover local models(not even 100% made in MY anymore)

MITI is just working to protect Proton in the EV space.
