thanks for the links.

so it means that all PS3 set from Japan, US, HK, Taiwan, SG can play reigon A rite?

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Feb 14 2008, 01:27 AM)
No, that depends. Because there are several(or all) region sets of PS3 sold in Malaysia - as in Asia SGP, Asia Japan, US, etc.

this might contradict from above quote. Kindly elaborate.

from wiki, we Southeast Asia were in Reigon A.

about Rm100 lesser than SG set

wah..

in my situation (for mainly playing blu-ray, reigon A), the version is not really important eh? just make sure it could play region a blu-ray rite?

how about the firmware updates for different version? warranty issues?

which version is preferred?

Setup ICS on your computer (assuming you are using Windows), then connect using ethernet cable

Yes ICS is Internet Connection Sharing smile.gif

PS3 can only connect wirelessly to an access point (AP) but not in Ad-Hoc mode. You can try the "soft-AP" approach, which is transforming your computer wifi adapter to run in AP mode. I tried to do the soft-AP thingy last time but then it was only possible for (Intel wifi adapters) in Linux but not windows. Some USB wifi adapter can be transformed into AP using soft-AP method in Windows as well but you have to google for the specific model. I dont really know about now though.

thanks for the heads up. Appreciate it. smile.gif

So, it is possible to share my internet connection (from my laptop connected to Huawei USB HSDPA) rite? just need to get an access point?

It's technically possible but it still require ICS. Are you planning on playing games on PS3 or just downloading demo & games only? As far as I know HSDPA has quite high latency and might not be suitable for gaming.
*
hm..

yeah, u rite about high latency.

my main target is to downloads/purchase games/demos. Intended to play games online but since Maxis HSDPA is close to crap, might forget it. but still playable or not?

nvm. I'll try ur solution via Ethernet cable 1st, see how it come up.

any other recommendation?
