QUOTE(TheUndead @ Jul 17 2008, 11:47 PM) Sony rep doesn't know their model code? Tsk2, pitiful. Btw, what kinda mail did you send? Hate mail aa? nola, its email lulz. i dun hate them yet to send one cuz i just told them my ps3 model no then ask if theres any future problems, can i send it there then they reply "Regarding to your enquiry, if your PS3 is the official Singapore model, we suggest you to bring the machine to our service centre for inspection. After our technicians inspect your machine, they will be in a better position to assist and advise you." so i was like ok.....lulz but yeah thank you again for the clarification and oh yeah its CECHH06 SS but i think i just need to look at the country code no This post has been edited by SilverCrimz: Jul 18 2008, 12:02 AM |

QUOTE(TheUndead @ Jul 18 2008, 12:06 AM) Of course you can send it there for warranty. It's their product, so they will have to provide warranty like they promised. But don't forget to register at the website! yeah cuz b4 this i did sent them a mail b4 but that time i had no knowledge regarding the region code on the model no plus the ps3 box at the back has jap words so i assumed it was a jap unit (well im blamed for not actually doing my homework thoroughly) so i told them that my unit is a jap unit with the same question asked and they replied i cant cuz they say the parts are different for the jap unit and the sg unit. |

How do you determine whether your ps3 fan is louder then usual.
I'm not sure whether mine is loud but whenever i startup the ps3, it will be pretty silent but after leaving it idle for 7 mins or so the fan will start to kick up abit. I'm wondering, is it suppose to be dead quiet even during gaming sessions? |

I only play during the night so room temperature so room tempreture is quite cool since cool breeze flows into my room. Anyways, i just changed back my reso to 720p and this somehow did cut down the fan speed and before this i forced it to 1080p on my monitor but all the more im hoping theres nothing wrong on the hardware

ok. did more testings on my ps3 fan and recently after playing a few rounds of demos, i left it idle for several mins just to see if it actually goes back level 1 fan noise.
After a several mins nap i woke up to see that the fan is still spinning pretty fast and the noise though not as loud as a blow dryer but still apparently loud enough to hear even when im standing a few inches away and this was also in an air conditioned room plus the night was really chillingly breeze so my room is pretty icy cold. However, when i put my hand at the back, the air being blown out is apparently not hot air but mild cool breeze but the fan noise is still the same. TSorry for the redundancy and call me paranoid if you wish to but i find it really odd @_@. The reason im doing this cuz i've read on some forums saying that once you left it idle for several mins, the fan will go back to its initial silent mode.
